Exclamation Left in Map 4 overnight - No analog gauges work today (multiple restarts) - 08-19-2020, 06:48 AM

Good morning all,

I'm trying to sort out an issue that is a first for me. Looking for your experience or opinions.

Note: While I may be suggestive below that it relates to the JB4, I'm simply putting out info for thought. To date, I've had an entirely smooth experience with my JB4.

Issue: Today, none of the 4 analog gauges work in my car.
(includes no sweep at start, no movement when going into the JB4 app via steering wheel, though the menu is accessed and is changeable (blind style))

Not sure if it has any relevance, but it's another first... I left my car in Map 4 overnight (was raining yesterday and didn't want Map 6).

Additionally, while my cell has close to 100% connect success on first attempt, this morning it would connect and then state 'Disconnected' immediately (not sure if there are logs to pull?). This was the case for the first 15 minutes of driving, but then started working after this time.

My DME box always has the lid 100% closed, correctly, no exception. As well, I have the factory air filter and assembly installed and everything is snug. (no longer the BMS Cowel Filters, due to personal choice for testing cabin air temps, etc).

I fully powered off the car several times in attempts to 'normalize'. No joy as of yet.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

** EDIT ** The bluetooth transceiver is in the cabin for optimal connection

Do the gauges work at all? If only the JB4 override isn't working you may be on map0 or not connected to CANbus. JB4 board will also turn off if it detects an internal problem.

Thanks for the reply Terry.

My apologies for my delayed response.

Wednesday; (tested in Map 4, 0 and 6, from memory on the wheel)
Morning: The (analog) gauges did not work at all, at the time.
Noon: I tested over lunch. Still no gauges. I used the dash button (hold, put in key...) to launch gauge test. No joy.
Evening: End of day, when I started the car, they gauges were working.

Not sure why they started working, when not at noon (sat for hours, powered off prior to noon test).

As I see it, it may be the cluster (failing), or it may be JB4 related (in ways I don't comprehend).

I did have issues trying to connect to the JB4 in the AM, which is not normal for me at all. That is why I was curious if there were logs that may provide insight.

I will keep an eye and post here if I see any further symptoms.
