Hello N54 community.

I'm super new when it comes to JB4 because I have only ever did VIP style mods in my previous car-mods.

A bunch of Infiniti Q50 friends recommended me to get JB4 so I did. I do have a quick questions about the maps.

In the first page here, it said
Map3 - 5.5psi peak, suggested for 93+ octane or 30% E85 mixtures.

However - my friend told me we use JB4 Map 3 on the Q50 Luxe/SS with 91 Oct gas.

In short, my question is: is it okay and is it safe for us to use Map 3 on the Q50 Luxe/SS with 91 Oct gas?

Thank you so much in advance!

You should be OK on map3 on an SS with 91, but can always post up a log here and we'll check it out.

Hi Terry!

Thanks for the reply and thanks for always being so active on this forum. I have been reading through it and always see you here. Thanks for your work!

Ahh. Okay. I just wanted to double-check because the first page said 93 Oct suggested but my friends said we can use Map 3 on 91.

I will definitely do some runs and logs when I can.

Follow up question: Would Map 3 with 91 Oct be okay on a Luxe/SS with aftermarket intake and exhaust?
(I just don't want my engine to knock or damage my engine if I were to try Map 3 to do runs/logs).

First you asked about a stock Q, then a modded Q. Your question is basically the same, the answer is the same. Rule of thumb is bolt ons will assist with adding boost/going to the next map. Map 3 is fine on 91, but post a log so it can be verified that no timing is being pulled/no issues. Are you familiar with how to properly log?

Mods don't really change the octane suggestions much.

Sorry. I didn't know it was the same question or would receive the same answer. I truly thought its a different situation if it was stock and modded with the JB4.
I thought mods + Map 3 would + 91 Oct would increase the APR and cause a knock.

No. Not entirely yet. I'm trying my best to learn through this thread. Again - its my first time actually do anything performance related to a car. Any tips on logging?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Community, I have reached 16k miles on my 2019 Q50 Sport, I have been using Jb4 and 91 gas, using Map 5. For some reason it has been lagging a lot, when I floor it I have to wait 2-3 seconds delay for the motor to fully react to what I just did, I have tried taking off the JB4 and put it back on it will work as it should but than next day the power goes back. I have also noticed after going past 90+ the power dies down and it does pull as much almost like the jb4 turns off and it switches back to 300hp, please help

IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT, try to do a 2/3 gear pull as traction and speed allows with the intended map. You must go wide open throttle to really tell anything in the log. Make sure the car is up to temp for oil and coolant, 160* minimum. You will be able to upload the .csv file that can be opened and reviewed for things like boost/AFR/timing and any comments or recommendations shared.

try running map 4, unless your running 93+ or e30 mix, you should probably stick with maps 1-4. whats ure current mods and jb4 settings?

Hey guys I tried checking the forum for a concrete answer about the risks of having my factory warranty voided for my 2018 Q50 with JB4 but couldn't find too much. I was wondering if simply removing the JB4 before going in for service or anything of the like would be enough to keep myself safe? I also have an added extended warranty. Thank you!

Yes I will always recommend disconnecting jb4 before giving it for service so you don't get asked 1 million questions, the only way they will find out is if you blow your motor and they check the added boost to the psi.

Ah ok got it, but everything should be fine as long as I adhere to a max of 7 psi added while running with 93 octane right?

Can someone check my buddy's logs? I think he is over boosting like crazy and causing timing issues. I noticed 21 psi on the logs

Timing is being pulled (likely due to knock) +8 is too high for the fuel he is using IMHO.

LOL @ 21 psi at 5k on stock turbos. Assuming pump gas? His AFR is in the dirt, probably trying to keep the motor alive. He's been reading Facebook too much, hasn't he?

That's exactly where I found him.. he was complaining about not being able to pull off on a 2015 Accord. Everyone blamed the JB4 being inferior to a tune and I knew something was up. Had him post his Map 6 and it was a nightmare. I gave him my Map 6 and he's shocked at how hard it pulls now. Here's a fresh log if anyone has time to review

Good thing he found you when he did before he blew out the turbos and/or the engine. Did you tell him he doesn't have to do 140+ mph to get a log also?

The 4500 range of timing still looks like the car is struggling with the boost / octane level and pulling timing. He needs better fuel, lower boost, or suggest he add a WMI Kit to his JB4.

Hey guys - just got my JB4 and did some map 6 tests and here are the logs. What I'm not liking is the trims moving like that, should I be worried? Also I did lower the map to spike at 4 instead of 5.5 in these logs after seeing that, but still see the jerky trims, even on map 1.

Ps: 2017 Q60 RS 400 stock ish (just lowered and BMS Heat Exchanger), 93 octane from Canada
