Exclamation Infiniti Q50 has white smoke from exhaust - 04-15-2020, 05:53 AM

I iust installed jb4 2days ago & had no issues the following day installed bms air bms intake and it was a nightmare & just horrible car has a ridiculous amount of white smoke coming from exhaust even at low or high rpm idle etc... please any experienced advice would be much appreciate 2019 Q50 4K miles all was fine until I take install like something burning every time at starts hoping if I put back oem intake this will resolve my issue plz help this is my daily driver and need to use car ASAP thank you FYI new to jb4 please

Do you have any codes? Does the car run? Not sure what you did.

You must have done something wrong if issue came up right after an install. Maybe crimped a PCV or vacuum line doing the intake?

Default if i am all stock 91gas - 04-20-2020, 01:34 PM

if im all stock now took of intake my log showed temp rising after install of intake but was fine day before with just jb4 install so my question is was i usinhg incorrect map especially with stock (HE) 91 gas what maps is best to use? and if i need to modify whats the most important to do first apperently its not an intake?

There’s evidence that suggests the stock intake makes the most power (on a stock tune). Heat exchanger should be your first mod, really should be everyone’s first mod. Not sure I’d run above stock boost without one.

I had the same thing happen to me, i took it to the dealer and they changed one of the candles they said it was a common issue, warranty paid for, go get it fixed!!!

Does the white "smoke" have a decidedly gas smell to it? If so, you likely have a stuck and/or leaking fuel injector. Looking at the JB4 logging at idle you might see a discrepancy in Bank 1 and Bank 2 AFR numbers - one will be 14.7'ish and the other a notable lower AFR number (mine was in the 11-12's if I recall during my injector saga.)

Take it to the dealership immediately - if the injector(s) flood the engine it could hydro lock and that is typically game over for the engine.

Yes I have seen injectors stick and hydrolock motors, on BMW platforms. It's plausible that is the issue and would show a bank to bank fuel trims variance.
