The open loop 80 value will adjust itself yep, but the wastgate value of 80 always fixed as 80, the new default value is 60 should we keep it 80 or follow the new value of 60?

Maybe a silly and newbie question but I appreciate to know what's would be the difference in performance between 80 or 70 or 60 on the wastgate other than the rattle? Which is the best value to performance if no rattle on the turbos?

I prefer 60 as its a bit smoother than 80 and just as responsive for me. Some people like 100 for maximum response. Some need 15 to avoid rattle. It's menu 10 in dash so use/adjust to whatever works best for you.

Uploaded SIO 28.82 using the new firmware 4/6/15.

I did reset all values (CPS, Meth, Max Boost 3rd, ...) using the screenshot on page 1 (see below).

The only value I did not reset is the Default Wastegaste Position (DWP), which is set to 80 since I've installed JB4 2 years ago. Looks like the new default value is 60. Not sure I should change from 80 to 60.

Thank you Terry.

Terry after doing the firmware update I love it. I am noticing a little more pshhh noise or pressure release noise when I shift around 2500rpm into a higher gear (6MT). I've never heard this sound before.....

Yes, I had already read Terry's post #3127. That's a good and easy explanation. I will give it a try (change DWP from 80 to 60).
Thanks.

The latest version of the interface keeps giving an error message when trying to install on Windows XP. It's related to .NET framework 4.0 - is the latest version no longer compatible with Windows XP?

My XP is fully up-to-date with Windows/Microsoft update...

Terry, why did you stop adding a "last updated" date to the first post? You had done it for a little while, but quit. That really helps for those of us that aren't on the site every day.

Just upgraded to the iso board and have a couple of questions. Do I still need to cut the diode or are the newer boards already just plug and play? I also noticed that my service engine soon light came on after the install. I'm assuming it's for *******DP but i'll have to check on a laptop tonight. Any ideas?

They are plug and play. On the codes read the fault in dash or via laptop.

Terry I just reset my adaptations with the jb4 and now the car is surging like a mad man at idle. I tried the foot pedal reset method and it didn't work. Would really love to get this fixed tonight as I don't want a rental car for work tomorrow.

That happens sometimes when you reset the throttle adaption. Turn on ign, engine off, and keep clearing codes/resetting adaptions, until it works.

I have INPA setup on my laptop, is there a better way? Also I'm a bit concerned that tomorrow I'll have a N54 for sale.

This was off another forum, was having similar issues and this cleared them up:

after adaptation reset:
30sec key off
30sec key on/engine off
30sec key off
30sec key on/engine off
start car.

It's been about an hour and a half since I did it through the jb4, a guy on a different forum had the same problem so he did this.

1. Never touch the brake pedal & leave the key inserted the entire time
2. Insert key and push START Button
3. Press and HOLD accelerator pedal for 30 seconds.
4. WITHOUT RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, push the START Button (remember without touching the brake, so the car doesn't really start yet.)
5. Release accelerator pedal
6. Wait 30 seconds
7. Start car normally

Worked for me. I guess I'm going to try resetting adaptations through inpa. I don't know I love doing things that I know I can't afford.

I updated the firmware to the latest 28_8 on my X6 2 days ago, thankfully it seems to fix a previous problem of 30ff code in map 4 that used to pop up randomly .
What I need to know is if there is a difference in setting the duty bias 0 or 50?
Thanks
