Hey T am I understanding the new feature correct in that if you have boost limit set-up and you use the steering wheel volume or talk button while driving, the bost limit will be disabled? Or do you have to be in set-up mode to disable it?

Right, press down on the volume button or the talk button to disable the 1st and 2nd gear boost limiting. Like if you are trying to do a burn out at the track.

Quick question on the firmware updates, does the car engine have to be on when connecting it to the JB4 interface?

Hmm how do I turn the ignition on? The key is in the car, engine is not on, but fails to connect unless I turn the engine on as well.

Push the start/stop button with the key in the ignition and no feet on the peddles.

To make sure, I like to start the car, connect the interface, and then press the ignition shortly once. This will stop the engine but leave all other electronics on. (Ready for ignition)

How does adaptive PID / feed forward scaling work with switching between maps? Will it have to relearn every time I switch?

It's always on and adjusting and does not reset or need to reset with map switches.

T, I apologize if I'm behind the curve but can you expand on the "Lowered range in lean run safety"?
I have no idea what this is.

For the boost reduction in 1st gear, what do you guys like to set it at to get the best possible traction? I got some pretty decent tires, vredesteins 275s in the rear, but when full boost comes on, even on map 1, I spin the tires? 10 PSI max on 1st gear? Also, what rpm do you usually shift at for a 6mt? Is 6200 rpm still the best shift power to get the most power a near stock for with *** back and DCI.

Try 10psi as it wont go under stock target either way.. See if you can go WOT on 10psi, i would'nt go lower IMHO, usually in warm wetahter with 275's, you should stick.... In first gear Red line shifting is good.

10psi is a good boost cap for 1st gear on street tires.

This may be a terribly asinine question but while using the the JB4, is the CANtool needed to access all the parameters or is the JB4 capable on it's own? Thank you

On its own the JB4 can do everything the CANtool can. With JB4 there is zero need for the CANtool

Just downloaded the updates also. Gonna try to see if I can do some logs on teh way to work and on the way home and then do the update and see the differences and send these up.

In the last couple of days that I have been driving on MAP 1 I can definetly tell that it will maintain the stock boost levels until the engine is warmed up. After that, all I can say for now is that I wish April was here so I can lay down better rubber on the road.

Just curious, but did you guys change anything in the way the throttle adjusts in cruise control? If you are in cruise control and shift gears, the time it takes for the car to automatically re-apply throttle seems to be greatly decreased now.
Just an observation

No problem here. Just delete the compressed folder, download it again and unzip. Make sure the folder is saved with the .zip extension.

I'd recommend running the usb cable through the bottom of the ecu compartment into the glove box, there is a diy somewhere and it was very easy to route it this way. If youre installing the JB4 it is only a few minutes extra to do it properly...
