Default "Manipulation Protection: Engine power too high" Code at highway speeds - 10-16-2018, 02:39 PM

Hello!

Ever since I first installed iso firmware my dme would throw a code that reads "Manipulation Protection: Engine power too high". For some reason this code ONLY gets thrown every once in a while when i gradually get up to speed on highways ~80 mph. Even accelerating hard to that speed doesnt throw the code, only when I get on to highways. How weird.

The code is totally benign although it will throw the car into limp mode, sometimes with some stuttering under throttle. Usually it can be cleared via in-dash jb4 code clearing but sometimes I need to restart the car. Either way the code will disappear and the car runs fine again.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with this or how to stop it from throwing? Ultimately its just an inconvenience thing though

Thanks!!

Okay codes are:

120408 and 120208

Charging pressure too high (I'm flattered) and disabling charging buildup

These are actually new, usually its the "Engine power too high" code I mentioned earlier but they came up under the same circumstances and I'm sure they're related.

Additionally, I've noticed some stuttering under boost and I'm guessing they're misfires because its got old plugs. I ordered some 1 step colder plugs that will work better for the PS2 that'll get here next week, might pick up upgraded coils too but I'm gonna see if the plugs fix it first. Otherwise it could be a VANOS problem which scares me so fingers crossed.

Thanks!
