Hello all,
Been working on some manifolds for the N54 and N55 motors. So far its been great.

02 sensors are being placed right under the turbo flange in the divided runners so they will not be mixed. Pricing will be around $2k mark for top mount.

Thanks for the info. Thinking of going single in the next year or so and can't decide if I want to DIY or purchase an OTS solution.

Couple follow-ups related to longevity; Are you backpurging/inerting the weld environment? 304 or 304L?

I always back purge every manifold I make, can't have that sugar.

Well I plan on creating a kit as well but for now sell the top and bottom mount manifolds. Bottom mount price is going to be around 1500 top around 1900. This isn't cheap material I am using the best stuff here no short cuts. FFTEC are the only ones who are selling manifolds only for DIY guys. Those are priced over $3k. There aren't any manifolds for N55 guys so I am taking a shot at it with the bottom mount, I can provide the hardware but I am not a tuner.

looks very clean and tight! i have question more for my knowledge. i plan to make a top and bottom mount manifold by the end of next year and am gathering info where i can find it. when looking at the manifolds that are out there i always see the runners extend around and meet at the collector. is there a draw back of say connecting each to the next? not sure if im saying that right. say you start with one cylinder. that comes out and turns a 90 to go straight in front of the next cylinder which you, maybe, could be able to connect to with another 90, just have to put a hole in the back/bend to connect, oriented in the same direction. then have that attach to the third cyl through the bend part of the 90? then route to wherever, say down or up. i really hope i'm making sense. i'm going for the twin upgrade so thats why i'm using 3. i would draw what i mean but i should be wearing a helmet 24/7 if that would be determined by artistic talent. in my head, that has no idea about flow and what not, its kind of like the one HPF just released not to long ago, but 3 cyl and tubing instead of a machined block. Thanks for any info.

Hello,

Basically you want to make sure each runner flows smooth like water. Imagine each runner flowing water you want it be free flowing with no interruption all the way to the turbo. By placing the collectors closer to the turbo you are allowing the manifold to flow better without gases interrupting each other.

what you are describing is a log style manifold and it should work fine, be cheap to produce, and offer great spool. they work fine on other platforms.

Thanks for the info. Log style is how they have it stock as well init? I would think with the limited space underneath it might work a little better and be able to angle the turbo to make room for the intake and exhaust to be run to the rear turbo and allowing more room for the ** coming past the bottom turbo from the top turbo. would love to be a tester for the top/bottom mount. wish i had the funds and was local to do it. Cant wait to see pics of it.

great work, looks very nice and clean.

but the flange looks a little bit to thin for me.

Twin scroll is the best future. Waiting to see a BW EFR on the N54/N55, but they need more space as Precision.

Flanges are not thin. Turbo flange is 1/2" thick, head flange is pretty thick as well same size vargas, RB, fftec and VM and others use.

I'd love to see someone make an undivided t4 turbo manifold that could be used with a quick spool valve. Those things completely change the spool characteristics of a big singles... I had one on my 2JZGTE single swap and the QSV gave it a nice flat TQ curve.


FBO (-meth), JB4 and RBs.
