Default N20 X1 menu question - 06-06-2018, 08:38 PM

Just installed a JB4 in The Wife's 2013 N20 E84 EWG (X1 S28i). Install was quick & painless and everything appears to be working great.

Wanted to be sure I've got the menu's right before we start playing with things- can somebody confirm these are right for the E series X1 & Z4 unit? These are from the F Series N20 sticky...

'***************************************
Dash Menu
'***************************************
'0 map menu, map shown on tach
'1 Active Sound MUTE (not relevant for most N55 models) (OFF tach = 0, ON tach = 1000)
'2 Boost gauge on fuel, scaling in dash is 0 to boost safety setting, turns on when gas pedal is pressed 50% or more and turns itself off when you resume low throttle use. (OFF tach = 0, ON tach = 1000)
'3 LED MAX brightness mode. For those with factory LED headlights this option brightens HALO during nighttime operation. (OFF tach = 0, ON tach = 1000)
'4 Delete fault codes
'5 1st gear boost limiter
'6 2nd gear boost limiter
'7 3rd gear boost limiter

JB4 Map Guide
'***************************************
Map 0: JB4 disabled.
Map 1: PWG models absolute target 21psi peak, EWG models additive 4psi peak over stock.
Map 2: PWG models absolute target 22psi peak, EWG models additive 6psi peak over stock.
Map 3: Progressive Methanol Injection. Requires BMS methanol kit or BMS FSB for meth pump control.
Map 4: Stock performance, JB4 on
Map 5: Absolute targeting map with a peak boost 17psi. Suitable for 320 & 520 applications.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas absolute target map. Peak boost 23psi. This is a fairly aggressive map and increases engine damage risk. Use with caution.

No that is not accurate for the X1.

The menu is similar to the N55 E N55: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13189

Not all the options are in the X1 as it's older firmware. But you get the idea.

Cool-

So the listed maps are accurate?

Menu being similar to the E series N55 is close enough for now- It's The Wife's ride, and she loves the way it feels just on map 1 compared to stock. She won't ever be swapping maps or playing with other configs.

I just want to be able to log so I know the engine is healthy, and just can't leave a boosted engine alone

Close enough. Map1 is the suggested map for most applications.
