Default Jb4 with standard mhd stage 2 tune. - 12-01-2021, 06:57 PM

F10 m5.
Jb4 with meth kit installed.
Car now has MHD’s stage 2 tune (not a BEF tune, but the standard tune one would buy off the mhd website)
Question: Is there any specific setting i need to change to ensure the jb4 will work with the tuned m5 DMEs?

Default Clarification - 12-02-2021, 12:53 PM

Too be clear, i did not install a tune made for a jb4 car.
Is that different from a bef tune?
The mhd person said i needed a tune specifically made for an installed jb4.

My question is: is there a difference between a flash for a m5 without jb4 and an m5 with jb4?

So does the car have a MHD Stage 2 tune or not? If it's an OTS map JB4 will still work.

Something is unclear with this. I don't think you run a jb4 and an mhd tune (the one you buy from them).

You would run a jb4 with an jb4 BEF (free from burger tuning ) which uses the mhd adapter to connect to the dme. OR you run an mhd stage 2 BEF.

This would be the normal configs as I know it.

Default Thankyou. - 12-04-2021, 10:05 PM

Thankyou for understanding the question asked. I was wondering how the initial responder couldnt understand it.

I have not seen any “free” bef for the f10 m5 - searching for them is futile on this site. There are free bef for the s55 engines though.
My jb4 setup was running lean without a tune. So i purchased the the standard stage 2 tune off the mhd site for the f10 m5. My assumption was that the jb4 can work over the stage 2 mhd tune - even if it was not a specific mhd jb4 bef.
Mhd told me they do not make bef for the f10 m5 with jb4.
I read the published novel called the s63 thread of this site - It was not helpful at all with this topic.

First I half to say I am no Cannon. He is very much an expert. I just know how some non experts think since I am one.

For your platform would the free jb4 bef not be located at the beginning of this thread:

JB4 MHD Back End Flash Maps for F Chassis //M Models - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion

I downloaded and you are right it only says S55 model. I have seen where sometimes the details are not always updated on the forums.

This would need to be bumped back to Cannon for clarification.

To clarify...you can run an MHD OTS flash with the JB4. Once you do, start your own support thread (in the correct section) and upload a proper log for review.
