Default 2019 G20 320i (184HP) log review - 08-22-2020, 08:07 AM

Hi everyone, I installed a jb4 on my own G20 320i and I took two logs using Map 0 and Map 3 today. I hope somebody can check them for me. Thank you very much!

I did not start from gear 3rd cuz my car cannot stay at 3rd when I manually set it. It will automatically transfer to 2nd, which I don't know why.

When you open up the taps, don’t hit the pressure switch at the bottom of the gas pedal (press the gas pedal all the way with the car off, then let off pressure a little, you’ll feel a very obvious “switch/button” feeling). That switch doesn’t do anything as far as telling your engine how much “go” you want (it’s effectively 100% driver demanded torque whether you trigger the switch or not), what it DOES do is tell your transmission to drop a gear because you want to accelerate quickly (not what u want while logging/testing).

Your ign looks good (steadily climbing towards redline, look at the individual cylinders, the AVG_IGN is not the average of the individual cylinders, it's a calibrated output)

Your Trims aren't holding/getting near 50

Your AFR looks fine holding steady

Your throttle seems to be working quite hard but that's probably because you're starting in first gear so the ECU is doing all sorts of stuff to try to keep things in line.

Do you know if your engine is the B48B20A or B48B20B ?

I have a 2019 G30 which has the B48B20B so if you have the B as well we're roughly in the same situation so we can compare our results more or less directly.

I'm not planning on doing any hardware mods while still within warranty (I would imagine same for you) so JB4 is about as far as I can go, I'm planning on getting the EWG and Fuel Pressure sensor wires as well so I can use the custom map targeting absolute boost given we have much more headroom on our 20i model given the artificially low DME boost target.

Thank you bro. Sorry I just saw your reply. I actually did not hit the "kick down" switch which would automatically drop the gear. I figured out that our car cannot start from 0 with the 3rd gear.

I'm having a B48B20B which I believe is the same one as the one inside a G20 330i. Could you please share with me your map6 settings? Thanks man!

Thanks a lot bro! will try both of em when I am free. Although I'm having a 20i model but it has a B48B20B inside.

How about other parameters in the setting page? Do I just keep them as default?

Wrt to the hardware yes the 20i and 30i have the same components but from the logs I've seen the 20i stick ecu is far more reluctant to run rich mixtures so for safety I think it makes sense to be more progressive in upping the boost

Hi KnifeEdge87, I just pulled a couple of WOT logs yesterday and found that the boost was much higher than the target so the throttle was constantly partial open. I just post a new thread so could you please have a look? Thx
