Flash+JB4+Meth. Adjusted Safety Map Request -
04-06-2019, 02:56 AM
Car: 2016 Mini Cooper S (F56/B46)
Flash: Dervtech
JB4: Map 4 or Map 0 (Disabled)
Meth: BMS Kit
I just wanted to request an adjusted safety map so I can use my JB4 to run my meth kit and to have it monitor in the background for safety features.
Theoretically, right now if the JB4 bumped to the "safety map" it wouldn't do anything beneficial as the ECU is tuned. Is it possible to trigger a "False Limp" when safety hits? Ex: AFR Lean, Boost Over Safety, Fuel Pressure Low, etc.
Not too concerned about meth low safety as I chose not to tune for meth.
I have attached some logs of the flash map with and without meth.
Thanks in advance!

Just set all map6 values to 1psi and run map6, should do what you want.

Will do.
What happens when safety hits?
Wouldn’t it just bump to Map 4? Which still is the tuned map.
Currently running Map 4 right now anyway.

We can adjust the firmware so map4 is a low boost valet map, then you'd use map0 for flash only, so when you safety you wind up making less than flash boost.

Thanks. Valet Map 4 sounds like a good solution.
How can I move forward with this?
Appreciate the time.

Thanks Terry. Will standby.
Valet sounds like a great idea to also hide the flash map during dealer service test drives so they aren’t slammed with unexpected power.
