ah, ok. been quite a while since i ran my Stage 1 but i could set a broad range of boost on it but i kept running into drivetrain errors on higher boost.

looks like you still need to get a cable for the laptop to set FUD=1.

When we changed the system from the G3 to G3rev2 board we also dropped the FUD=1 setting. The new board detects the model now and adjusts itself. So you just install and enjoy. Next stop for more power and features, the JB4 upgrade kit.

My box is marked "63-2", does that mean it uses the G3rev2 board?

Yes should be the new board that is automatic and not adjustable. Next stop for more power will be the JB4.

Default JB Stage 1 Settings - 06-21-2017, 04:43 AM

Hi, I remember post nr. 1 having information on JB stage 1 Map settings as well as firmware levels and when to use the JB4 interface for decreasing the boost settings (JB Stage 1 production date specific). Where has this information gone?

Using JB4 interface you can select map3 and adjust boost safety between the 0-4psi range.

Sorry, that is not correct, the new version is definitely adjustable via the JB4 interface with the BMS cable. Map 0 = stock, map 1 = 4 psi fixed, map 3 = adjustable from 0 - 4 psi max.

With the present (V2) board on my S63TU: Map 1 is not adjustable - that is correct. The adjustment is possible via Map 3 and is adjustable from 0 - 4psi. Map 0 is stock. I have done numerous logs on all three maps and confirmed this times. Confirmed by Terry and Ando. Try it.

Terry will correct me if I'm wrong, but:

1) The S63TU JB4 isn't the same as the N63/S63 version
2) The N63/S63 JB4 has been discontinued

Just to avoid any confusion - I am talking of the JB stage 1 (not JB4), Version 2 board, for used on an F10 M5 (S63TU). The JB4 interface is used to connect to the JB Stage 1 board to select map 0 (stock), map 1(+4psi additive) or map 3 (which is adjustable from 0 - 4psi). Jon from BMS and my local BMS agent confirmed/explained this by email before I purchased this 4 months ago and this is exactly how it works - which is great!

This is an N63/S63 thread, so I don't see why S63TU is even being discussed. I'm guessing everything from firmware to steering wheel controls/menus are different. The S63 version of the JB4 has been discontinued, so if the S63TU was interchangeable between the two engines, then the TU would be in the title.

Sorry, this is also an S63TU thread! Please refer to first post from Terry:

"Hey guys,

This is the central post for all n63/n63tu/s63/s63tu Stage1tuning information.

Download the install guide here".

If you read the various posts then you will see various references to the S63TU.

I stand corrected, sorry. The engines are wildly different going from non-TU to TU, AFAIK the BMS hardware itself isn't cross compatible, so I'd assumed the thread title was specifically N63/S63 and that the N63TU/S63TU would be yet another subforum. I'm still waiting for the third / to be added to this ///M subforum though lol

Terry, out of curiosity why did you move the default boost from +2.25 to +3.0 on the n63 stage 1 units?

Testing over time showed 3psi was a more appropriate default value. The initial 2.25psi value was overly conservative. The difference between them is relatively minor, though.
