Nothing yet on that front, but we're still working on it.

Default Install ? - 05-11-2019, 11:47 PM

Iím just about to install the jb4 and I need to clarify the boost plug connectors, just so I donít stuff it up.

I thought I understood it but Iím still a little confused by the rs3 instruction sheet, quote below

ďSensor to the right of the overview has the rainbow patch wires (four different colours)
Sensor to the left has the brown wire.Ē

Itís says sensor to right has rainbow (four different colours) are we talking about the sensor wires in the car or on the jb4 harness, well neither of mine have 4 different colours.

Pic of my harness below.

We have 3 sets of connectors on the main jb4 harness cable.

I assuming the one with the brown and black wires goes on the LEFT boost sensor.

Then Iím guessing the one with red/black/yellow wires goes to RIGHT boost sensor (down a little deeper on engine).

Then there is last connector set on the longer lead green/black wires which are not used.

If someone can please confirm or correct the above Iíd be grateful.

The connectors with a brown wire goes to the left (on top of the manifold).
The multi-color connectors is pre-throttle (on the right side at the throttle inlet turn down).
The last connector is not used on RS3.

+1 the green fuel pressure connector isn't used on the 2.5 yet.

I made another attempt to install the module tonight and got foiled by the BCM connector. The female side doesn’t seat into the plug all the way. I remember another poster mentioned this. There is a pink plastic frame in there around the pins which stops it seating into the connector.

I tried to pry out the pink frame with some needle nose pliers but it didn’t want to move. I didn’t want to use too much force and risk damaging the connector or pins.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this.

I was keen to get the jb4 on the car finally after waiting a few months for dealer to resolve some issues with the car. The excitement is now replaced with frustration.

The image hosting site I use is offline so drop me a email George@burgertuning.com and I will send a picture of what needs to be done.
In essence the pink assembly needs to be pushed with something flat to the other side of the plug, up in the picture towards your index finger. It will lock into place there.
Sorry for the trouble.

Basically you need to slide a small flat head screwdriver between the connector housing and the pink piece where your thumb is at. This will push it up and you should hear a click.

I just double checked all of them here. Everything is seated correctly, must have been older batch or missed. My apologies

Thanks all for the help. The pink part has been pushed aside and connection clear. I found that the other side of the plug also had an obstruction. There was a grey plastic circlip at the base of the connector whic also stopped the connector from mating. But I found that this could be slid out from the side of connector. You give it a push from the inside and then pull out from the side.

I’m making progress unit is fully installed but now I can’t connect using Bluetooth. I’ve sent an email to the jb connect support team but I thought it wouldn’t hurt asking here as well.

I’m using a Samsung S8 and I bought the jb4 kit fully assembled with BT, so I assume the wiring is good.
My phone has no problem connecting to any other BT device. When I hit the connect button it just says “no devices found. Ensure you have location services enabled”. I have location services enabled. I have an account set up in the app, which is the same username as on the forum.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Gives us a review once you get the car running with the jb4. I want more RS3 reviews vs ttrs. Not sure if you plan on hitting the track or have a dragy.

Default A dyno of my car yesterday..... - 05-17-2019, 12:28 AM

Went to a local place (uk) to see what my car had gained on the JB4 now it's been running for a month......

This was my original Dyno when i bought the car new as you can see it's pretty much bang on what it should make.
Name: dyno1.jpg
Views: 179
Size: 80.6 KB

below is the JB4 run, so the car has made nearly 40bhp and 54lbsft gain.

The Dyno i used is a very well calibrated one, so a dyno at a different company could see higher figures and indeed George has given me some figures to input to tweak Map 6 higher up the rev range.

The Dyno guy said it was a very smooth run.......To me on the road the difference is very noticeable with the butt dyno, car feels very strong, especially in the mid range.

My Mods are Forge intake pipe, Forge Intercooler and a pipercross air filter.

What fuel you running? And is that dyno set to crank numbers I'm assuming, with base numbers at 397, I'm assuming that's not WHP?
