Elantra N dyno results map 4 -
06-10-2022, 01:47 PM
Hey all,
Have some dyno results to show.
Conditions:
99 degrees, probably hotter in the shop
E30 blend
140 IAT
Mustang dyno (so lower than other dynos)
Map 0: 250hp 262 lbft
Map 4: 300hp 316 lbft
Gain of 50hp 53lbft
It was HOT.
It was LOUD.
I plan on letting a YouTuber post the video for me.

Here is the log from the last run, slightly lower result than the last
Probably heat soaked, looks like it pulled timing.

Is this more, less, or right in line where the Elantra N should be? Your map 0 seems strong for an otherwise stock car.

Other manuals have dynod at 264 stock, the dcts about 10 more than that.
I was actually a little disappointed by the map 4 results, but I am blaming the stupid high temperature and a mustang dyno that probably wasn’t set up 100% correctly.
The most important thing to look at is the difference between the two, which is more or less accurate.

Ultimately Dynojet and 1/4 mile trap speed are better indicators of power.

Gains sound good, hard to really tell without a dynojet machine though.
Log seems fine, I see intake temps are in the 120f+ range so that isn't ideal of course.

Dynojet results -
07-22-2022, 01:59 PM
Updated dyno results using a dynojet
Is there a way to adjust timing, or does that require a flash tune?
I was told there looks to be another 20hp on the table from timing advance.
Mods: (engine only, won’t bore you with others)
E30 blend
SXTH Element intake
SXTH Element turbo inlet
HKS Sparkplugs
JB4 map 4 first, map 0 second
Manual transmission, fourth gear
Still warm, but not as warm.
Will try and post some logs, but there is a lot of noise as I had the app open a lot.

JB4 log -

What is the max boost the stock turbo can give.
Would I benefit from running a map 6 and requesting more than 6lbs?

1) It requires custom flash, however I highly doubt 20hp has been left on the table.
Another thing how many pulls on the dyno? It takes several pulls to get the max power out of one map at least four in my experience.
2) Why would adding +6 psi help? None the less you can add 1 psi after torque peak up to fuel cut and see how the car reacts
The more heat you remove from the combustion chamber the more timing you'll get.
3) Why not Map 5?
Typically, I run all Maps in order making additional runs until the car stops making power on x map, then move up to the next map until Map 5

That was he third pull on the dyno.
I will try map 5 and see what the logs say.
Thanks for the feedback.
