Replace “lighter” with heat gun — especially if you’ve never dealt with wiring before. Don’t have a heat gun? Order one or pickup one from Walmart. No, a hairdryer won’t work for solder and if your girlfriend/fiancé/wife saw her hair dryer in the garage you’d have some explaining to do so just don’t do it.
