Default Anybody running upgraded turbo w/o meth? - 06-17-2015, 07:44 PM

Looking for more power, especially on the top end. Have MPPK and FBO (intake, JB4 EWG, CP, **, IC) right now, so naturally, meth would be next. However, since I have a hatchback, I'm kinda reluctant to put a flammable liquid in the trunk, and I haven't been able to find a tank to go in the under floor well. So an upgraded turbo may be next. Wondering if anybody is running one without meth and how well its working? Even like a Stage 1, which is probably how I'll go, because I can't really justify $2500+ and installation on a turbo for a car that I won't keep very long...... unless somebody is selling a Stage 2.

Thx.

We run a Stage 1 without meth...but we run a lot of E85.

Thanks Steve. I don't think I can do that with the EWG. Currently running E30 and the car idles a bit rough, so I'm not sure it likes it. Gonna try cutting back my next fill up.

Do I have the option of running meth safely without a closed trunk? If not it looks like I may be stuck unless I can put a smaller reservoir under the hood (washer tank?).

The Pure stage 2 has shown huge power gains even on pump gas. Run E30 and you are talking 100whp+ more than the stock turbo. Meth won't do a ton on the stock turbo if you are already running E30. It is just too small to take advantage of the octane.

I'd love to go Stage 2, but the cost doesn't make sense. I'll keep the car maybe 12-18 months more and then its gone, so spending $2500 plus options, plus install on it doesn't make sense. Plus then I still gotta worry about all the extras (N20 TMAP, tuning, possibly fueling, etc.).
Thinking Stage 1 is gonna be it and then I'll go back to an X5M or 750 in a year and a half (or a LWB Range Rover, which has really caught my attention).
