Hello everyone, this is George from Egypt, I have a Tuning shop called G-TUNING, we are a small shop located in Cairo, Egypt. We are mainly specialized in N54 tuning, so the B58 platform is new to us, but I see great potential in it so, we decided to give it a shot!

I am currently in the process of building a Twinscroll Tubular Topmount Turbo kit for the B58 with two external wastegates and ditching the electronic boost controller

So basically you’ve built a new turbo for the B58? And custom tuned it I assume?

yes sir, we finished the hardware part of the build, and we are waiting for a new JB4 specifically made for B58 Pneumatic wastegate conversion, it will use a 3 port MAC solenoid to control the 2 38mm external WGs and the EWG is going to be "disabled" from the ECU bin, and then tuned

exhaust manifold can be made with two external wastegates (v-band or 2bolt styles) and can be made without any external WGs if one will use a turbo with an internal wastegate flapper capable of bleeding the big volume of exhaust gases, which I think is not available in many turbos, I guess only the new EFR turbos with internal wastegates have this , usually most of the turbos with internal WG have a small diameter flapper, that's why when BIG BOOST made their kit, it had to incorporate an external WG together with the internal since the internal flapper is really small, I know that because a new customer just arrived to swap out the BIG BOOST turbo (5959) for a HX40 holset with a 67mm custom billet compressor wheel and 64mm turbine wheel, we already finished installing the Turbo on the same BIG BOOST manifold, only remaining thing is the DP

Are you going leave the externals open or piped back into the DP/exhaust? I also see the BOV... Is that needed or will it be set to only open at higher boost levels. Just curious, as the stock setup doesn't use one.

I will not claim to be 100% sure of the necessity of a BOV in this setup, but putting it will not hurt in high boost applications, the dump tubes will not recirculate to the exhaust (screamers)

Very nice! Will you have a filter? it is probably going to be a good idea to prevent engine and turbo damage.

Very cool. Can't wait to hear how it sounds when the WG's open on the inline 6. Should be awesome.

Yes sir, our turbo placement allows the use of BMS silicone filtet (the big one)
