Default 2016 Throttle Body Position issue??? - 12-25-2019, 02:22 PM

Car
2016 435 Xi Gran Coupe (F36 - N55)

Following is a list of symptoms, either of or a combination of which, a car driver may experience because of a defective throttle position sensor:
•Bucking and jerking of the car (sometimes during WOT )
•Idle surging of the car.
•Sudden stalling of the car engine.
•Hesitation while the driver of the car is trying to accelerate.
•Sudden surge in car's speed while driving on the highway.
•Engine Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is turned on.
•The driver of a car experiences difficulty while changing gears.rough transition on 8AT
•The fuel economy of the car drops drastically.

Could this be a Throttle sensor problem?

Hey Terry so I worked through a few issues, and changed out the LPFP which solved the High Trims issue, but it intermittently now gets the random choke/cut-off around 1500 - 2000 rpm. It will happen in the begning near the start then works itself out. I think what was happening was the Lucas Oil Octane booster I added clogged the fuel filter in the sending unit which in turn caused the pump to work over time and eventually started failing. When it did it was only going at about 2000 RPm and if I accelerate passed that the HPFP would take the load.

With the new fuel pump idle is pretty good now and trims drop back to about 15-19 at the light.

So now im pretty close to solving this. Ill attach new logs tomorrow. The logs today are from last week.

OK high fuel pressure is what we need to keep an eye on. If its fuel related we should see that drop when you feel the issue.

Hey Terry, you are right when the issue happens I see Trims spike as if almost to offset the Leanest and brings the RPMS back up. I sent you an email with logs and full descriptions of whats on the casr and where the car is at. Please take a look and respond where you like . I will publish as soon as I can. For now logs are attached

Default Throttle jerking - 09-25-2020, 06:33 AM

Hello,

I have probably a similar problem.

Throttle is jerking pretty much in any situation, any maps. It is less perceptible at WOT but it is still there.

Thank you
