I downloaded JB4_EA888_8_6.hex

Currently have JB4_EA888_8_5_1.hex installed.
Are you using the app? That’s the only way I know how. Are you clicking the correct one to upload to jb4?

That's the correct one. Where you selected the 8_6 file?

Default JB4 dont work in Cupra 280 - 02-09-2020, 10:59 AM

hello, i bought a used jb4 and installed it in my leon cupra 280 hand shifted. after installation, the EPC lamp and engine warning light came on. the Car stutters and goes out in all maps. The connectors are all on the Right Place. the jb4 was previously installed in a Skoda Oktavia RS. what could be the reason that it does not work in my car?

Question, is there a way to tune the trans via JB4? I ask bc I've drove just a little over 800 miles with the jb4 on and the trans is slow to upshift when at WOT. There's about a 2 - 3 second delay before the shift.

Second question, is there a way to monitor KR with the JB4?

TIA.

I would’nt know anything about the warranty issues. Monitor ign1 for overall advance and ign2345 for timing pull in individual cylinders.

Awesome, thank you. It's been about 9 years since I've done any tuning myself so it's back to the basics.

Cannot do the TCU, you will need to flash it.

Timing adaption is ign2-5 in the logs.

The unit is compatible to the Cupra so potentially there is a issue on one of the connectors or possibly a firmware problem. I got your email so we can move to that and get it resolved.

Turn off Bluetooth in the car. Pop hood and put phone near bt connect kit then press upload. Makes a huge difference for the upload signal.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the beta. Very smooth in low RPMs. My engine mounts are too stiff and the vibrations dropped a lot with beta firmware. Great job

Those are good. Its the typical map 6 we start with.

It definitely feels much smoother at lower RPMs. Nice work. Thanks.

Love the update. I'm on map 3. Very noticeable acceleration increase from map 1 but so smooth. Like a stronger factory motor. Alltrack, 1.8, dsg, 93 octane.

Any safety advantage to map 4 or is map 3 just that well suited to the smaller Turbo. It can get into the 90's here (Chicago) in the Summer but generally humid.

I reckon in the summer months map 4 will be perfect for the smaller IS12 on the Alltrack.

Thanks man. May just put it there and leave it all year round. Just so nice to have 4 plug and play options now. Thanks for continuing to find ways of improving the product considering that your audience is somewhat captive. There are always alternatives but the versatility along with warranty and resale value considerations make the JB4 unique.
