Smile Will this JB4 suit 2015 328i? - 10-30-2019, 07:16 AM

Hi,

I'm really hoping to get some advice here please. I've spend hours researching on the internet and forums trying to answer my own questions but end up really confused. So would really appreciate some help please.

I got a JB4 from a workshop but I'm not sure if it fits my car.

I understand my 2015 328 is a EWG. I also don't have any mods and don't plan to do anything else other than a basic JB4. Which JB4 model is mine and will this fit my car?

1) Is it safe to install without knowing what other parameters has been changed in the JB4 unit?

2) Also, assuming I only need the to plug in 2 things right? The plugs with the rainbow wires and the plug with the brown wires.

3) I read in the installation instructions that JB4 EWG models don't have a seperate power and ground wire. Does that mean there is no need to connect the power wires? What should I do with the red and black power wires?

Thanks so much.

Appreciate the quick reply Terry.

Did you mean this will not work on my car at all? I've read somewhere that the PWG version may work for stock EWG post-2014+ cars and will run ok on the basic tune (map 1) - Is that accurate?

It actually comes with the additional EWG cables (and also the ODB cables). Just curious, are those cables to make a PWG version board work with EWG?

Thanks again.

You'd need new model, we don't have firmware for that model or offer support for that anymore. Very old and outdated.

Thanks Payam.

Can I ask if it would still work through? What will happen if you install it?

Honestly not too sure lol. Probably just a check engine light and limp mode.
