Default Wallnut blasting - 07-11-2014, 12:59 AM

Has anyone found a good shop that can do the wallnut blasting in Europe? This engine isn't very popular here so finding a good shop is difficult.

I'm in the southern part of the Netherlands; very close to the German and Belgian borders. So I am willing to drive if I can find a good shop with experience doing this.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response, I have not had the intake valves cleaned. I am close to 100km's and would like to have them cleaned so if you know a shop or someone that has done it before I'll gladly take the information.

Buy the kit and do it yourself, them charge your mates to do their cars.

I'm from Limburg too

There's Pascal Diagnostics who does N54 walnut blasting. Couple of guys on my forum went there, and they are very satisfied.

And there's on in Belgium who does the walnut blasting also.

I can vouch for performance shop in Geel, Belgium. They know the N54 well and the JB4. The owner speaks fluent English.

I live in the south as well (but not that far, Noord-Brabant). I had my car blasted at Gijsbertsen, located near Utrecht. Just waited there, did some work while my baby was being taken care of.

Hello everyone,

Have to bump up this old topic.

I am actually trying to find a dealer for the walnut stuff in europe, I live in Finland and can not find any store that sells it here.

I am going to do the blasting my self, as its quite straight forward, and going to keep the car for next 5+ years. Car has already 176k in meter, and no idea did the former owners do this.

As I have read the soda blasting does not do much to the nasty stuff on valves, and sand of course is out of the question. :D Is there some other way thats found to be useful?

Please PM me if you have a source where to get it. Oh, sorry for my English, not my native.

Thanks!

Pete

You should be able buy the walnuts from the BMW dealer.

Well, I used Google to search for abrasives.. And found several companies that have it. Wallnut shell powder turned out to be quiet common material :-)

the BMW dealer looked at me like I was speaking Spanish, when I asked if they did blasting... I may be odering the kit from ebay and doing it myself... doesn't look like a hard job...and im very mechanically inclined
