Default Connect JB4 to under hood diagnostics port? - 09-27-2021, 11:05 AM

This was asked on the Genesis forum but went unanswered.

On the Genesis G70 there's a 20 pin diagnostics port under the hood.
There exists a 16 pin OBD2 to 20 pin diagnostics port adapter on Amazon.

To avoid running the JB4 through the firewall is it possible to use adapter to wire up the JB4 and keep everything under the hood?

Thanks

Interesting. I'm honestly not familiar with it but might be worth a try.

My Cerato GT (AUS) also had this connector and its got Diagnostics written on it.

From the research I have done I think its only a OBD I port and not a OBD II.

Not sure if that would make a difference. I would be interested to know if it works though.

There were some issues with some of the CANbus commands we wanted to use there, but you could give it a whirl. It should mostly work.

I think they stopped adding that port on 2020+ models.
