Default 535i Quarter Mile Times? - 06-16-2015, 03:51 PM

I'm looking at buying a 535i F10. What are you guys running in the quarter with aftermarket mods? I tried Google but the results are all over the place. I couldn't get a good idea of anything. Seems like a lack of information. Thanks Guys!

There's a huge variance for what you're asking. If you're talking FBO, high 11's to low to mid 12's. Many people have custom tunes that can mid 11's reality. I tend to think that's leaning on stock turbos pretty hard for a daily driver.

FBO stock turbo you'll run mid-low 12's. If you upgrade the turbo and use E50 + Meth you could have yourself a mid 11 second car.

I dunno guys. My GT weighs about the same as a 535 (about 2 tons) and with FBO + MPPK, it sure doesn't feel like a low 12 second car. Thats what my Stage 1 X5M ran (12.29@112.5) and this feels way weaker. I'm thinking more like mid-high 12's. The stock turbo falls on its face on the top end.

I would imagine it would have the same power of 410whp max as the 335.

NO WAY....lol......I have F10 N55 PWG with FMIC, **, CP, Intake with a BM3 Stage 2 Remap running 13.1sec 1/4mile at 102mph. The stock turbo on these cars is small with no top end power and car is a TANK, literally. I have not seen anyone post better numbers than with stock turbo and only 93Octane Pump gas....BTW Stock is 14.6 sec. 1/4mile in summer heat with no launch control. About 14.1 sec in summer heat with launch control. And in winter may get a 13.9-14.0sec. 1/4mi w/launch control....

First, this thread was created back in 2015. Second, the amount of power you will make is almost completely dependent on how high of octane you're running.

Chargepipe - Does nothing for power
D P - Reduces restriction, increases spool, adds a little bit of power
FMIC - Keeps IATs lower which in turn keeps timing pulls due to high IATs at bay for a longer period of time which equals the same power for a longer period of time.
Intake - Sucks in hotter air and isn't really a restriction on the stock turbo.

When you start to add things like methanol, ethanol, or race fuel you can increase boost and timing which will net you more power. As for what your ET will be in the 1/4 mile that is largely dependent on your 60 foot time.

With Car&Driver-
I've never seen a 14.6 1/4 mile time posted on an F10 535i. For instance, C&D got 14.2 from a 6MT back in 2011, They got 13.9 in 2014 on a 535xi, and in 2011 they got 14.1 on a 535i 8at. All of which I'd assume are PWG cars.

Slow.

An S63tu M5 which is basically the same weight and dimensions goes low low 12s or high high 11s @ 120ish in the 1/4 mile with 530rwhp.

To get a 535i to that level, it'll take a ton of cash.

Ask me how I know

My stock F10 N55 PWG X-Drive Ran 14.3sec 1/4 mile bone stock (no launch control 2.1sec. 60ft)
With Stage 1 OTS remap ran 13.6sec 1/4mile @98mph
With Stage 2 Custom remap 13.1sec @103mph (High Flow **, FMIC) launch control 1.9sec 60ft
All these runs are on 93 octane pump gas

Next is an E30 remap on Custom Stage 2 remap to see if i can get into 12's
Then we go Pure Stage 2 ....

That's the plan....
