2021 Turbo 3 -
01-24-2021, 07:16 AM
As an owner of the 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo in a Hatchback, I'm very excited to see it being developed. I've been waiting patiently for parts and tuning solutions, and came across this forum through the Burger site. I had a 2019 I bought in 2019 loaded up with everything from CS, now I have to wait again, haha. Already working on the sound system and matting.
Hope development is going well, I'll be eagerly awaiting updates.

Just as a development update we finally got our car back last week with the new o2 sensor. I was able to get EWG control up and running, but it's looking like we need to take MAF control to do everything we want to do. MAF is running a SENT signal rather than digital or analog so it's a little tricky, but we're making progress.

That's great news on the catalytic and o2 sensor! Out of curiosity, what is a SENR signal?

It's a newer protocol for handling sensor inputs, one that is a little more complicated for us to process. But we have other SENT based platforms so not a huge deal. Just a little extra time to sort out how to handle it.

Hello Terry.
Will this eventually be available for the 2017 Mazda CX-9?

We plan to cover the entire platform, although technically some of the older models will be a different part number as they appear to use a different TMAP sensor.
Post up photos of your MAP/TMAP sensor and I can verify what you'll need.

Terry,
The majority of the Mazda CX-5 owners with the 2.5T have experienced a consistent power loss in 1st and 2nd gear when the temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s independent of traction, precipitation, engine and transmission temps, you name it. When it drops below 20, there’s no boost until 3rd gear. If you heat soak the engine when it’s less than 20 outside you’ll get normal power for the first pull. After that it drops back down to nothing. Have you seen anything like that so far?

Not something we've experienced but it hasn't been that cold. Photos of your MAP/TMAP connections? We can get a basic system up and running on those now I think to start collecting more tuning data.
On the CX models I think the TMAP is mounted to the top of the intercooler, likely under a plastic cover, as shown in this IC install photo we saw online. I want to confirm it's the same 4 wire sensor on your manifold.
Attachment 100489
Compared to the Mazda3 which has a 3 wire connection for TMAP which is easy to reach from the top, to the left of the airbox.
Attachment 100490

Beta Testing -
02-20-2021, 03:16 AM
Any idea when you think there may be some beta products able to be released to us tech and data driven folk? I just got done with a complete overhaul of the audio system from the factory amp out (JL Fix86 and Twk88) and am ready for my next project, lol. There are supposed to be intake and exhaust systems coming along soon too from Corksport. ETA on exhaust is completely unknown atm as it's supposed to be a full ******** and high flow ***/no *** then back. But intake 'should' be this spring. I'm eager to get my hands on the system.

I have a basic system up and running but before we can really release something need to evaluate EWG control, MAF control, and maybe oxygen sensor control. But for those who don't mind helping out with logging, plugging in some addl wires to the PNP connector when we added in additional loops, etc, we could open up some ALPHA testing.

My unit was delivered today after a small delay at the FedEx hub. Solid build quality, I'm impressed!
I'm hoping to install tonight but not sure I can. I will definitely get to it over the weekend though.

Super excited to see this. I currently have a CX-5 and would love to do ALPHA testing. I would love to support either way, do I need to confirm the TMAP sensor at the intercooler?

Took a look at my CX-5 and removed part of the tray. You are correct, the TMAP is mounted on the passenger side of the intercooler. I couldn’t get a good picture of the TMAP but looks to be a 4 wire connection that also has an additional spot where it disconnects on the side of the intercooler. Unfortunately I couldn’t get in there any further to read the part number.
Hopefully this helps somehow.

Made an account just to monitor the status and wanted to state that you'll definitely have another customer if this will work on the 2021 CX-5. Very excited!
