Default First Log Review - 05-20-2021, 08:58 PM

I知 just wondering if this log looks normal and I知 doing alright.

Car is a 2012 BMW 535i xDrive, 92k miles. Jb4 has been installed for 3 days and this is map 5.

Car is completely stock other than the JB4. I知 running 93 octane and waiting on a ******** and intake for the car next.

Thank you all.

Your timing is rough and you are overboosting so you are getting some throttle cuts. I would turn your ff down to 80 to help get your boost under control.

You need more octane to run this high of boost. Do you have access to e85?

Your iats are also too high. You really need an intercooler asap. That and a chargepipe should be the priority over an intake.

You are taking a big risk with this level of boost without an upgraded charge pipe. They are known to blow at boost level well below what you are running.

Alright charge pipe is on deck. I値l buy it when I get home from vacation sunday.
I do have access to E85 at every gas station around me.
I値l change the ff to 80 and re log and see if I keep having the overboost issue.

Sounds good. Start with mixing in like 2 gals of e85 into your 93 and adjust from there. Should clean up your timing.

Just keep an eye on your hpfp pressure, you likely will need to bump up your fol.

@435gc So funny you mentioned the charge pipe issue,, LOL My chare pipe blew the TMAP housing off the pipe 400 miles from home 30 minutes after I read your reply while I was only on Map 1. I was able to zip tie the sensor in place enough for the car to read and be able to adjust accordingly with the boost leak.. Anyway, VRSF chargepipe has been overnighted and will be here tomorrow morning. I will give the E85 a shot once the chargepipe is installed tomorrow morning. I have new oil and 1 step colder plugs going in tonight as well.

Damn, that sucks! Thank God for zip ties!

I would hold off on the plugs unless you have a reason to. They really are not necessary at your power level and have been known to cause idling issues for moderate mod vehicles.

I would do intercooler before d pipe. You won't be able to run map 2 without the intercooler with your high iats.

Really need that intercooler. You can get a decent one for under $400. Just get at least a 5inch stepped. Look at BMS, VRsF, MAD are the most cost effective brands. Since you already have the VRSF charge pipe may want to stick with them to ensure fitment.

Your throttle is being cut due to overboost. I would try map 2 and see how that looks.

Trims are maxing. I would bring your fol up to 60.

Timing is looking better and your hpfp is holding so I would add another gallon of e85.

Do all that and relog.

Also, really important. Just re reviewed your logs. You are doing these wot high boost pulls before your engine has warmed up. You really want to be sure that your oil temp is up closer to 200 degrees if not higher. You risk bearing failure or at least premature wear by doing these pulls on luke warm oil.

So why would I be Overboosting? I thought that Map 5 was only supposed to target max 17psi?

I値l just bumped up the fol and I値l fill up on Sunday with 3 gallons of E85 and the rest 93.

I知 getting on the intercooler. I just gotta pay the last $1500 on my kitchen remodel first.

Not sure why you are overshooting your boost targets so much.

Could be a hardware issue. Maybe the wastegate is getting stuck.

Let's see what map 2 looks like.
