No but we can make one if you want. I'll probably rename THR to "stock throttle" to more clearly distinguish them.

If it his better compatibility with xHP, then I think that would be very beneficial. Thanks Terry!

Terry, I am having the same issue with the JB4 BEF and xHP. (timing pulls for torque limit issues). Alpina works fine.

Above MHD stated when flashing MT nothing changes, but when flashing AT things do change. What tables change (i'd like to leave those as stock so the transmission can see actual torque values)? I am going to make a custom MHD BEF for JB4 to work with xHP that acts as a MHD map with MT option selected. In a previous post you stated to change the torque eff divisor to match the stock map in the BEF. However, I have the 2-23-17 version of the BEF for E85_PI and that table matches the table in the stock bin in the 2-23-17 version.

Also I noticed:
The latest BEF E85_PI torque eff divisor table has different values then the latest stock torque eff divisor table.

So with this, you choose the flash MHD custom map option (with MT checkbox selected), and then flash the JB4 BEF?

I'm also having trouble with the JB4 mhd backend flash working with XHP. Just not smooth as it was with just the MHD and xHP. Sometimes when going into 3rd gear it get jerky. Take out the jb4 and problem solved. Would be nice if I could run Jb4 mhd and xhp together I'm I the only one having Xhp and jb4 backend flash problems?

is there an E85 PI map that is a little less aggressive with fueling?

My problem with the cobb maps is to run straight E85 and a TBI the trims go waay rich when it kicks in. this is with the fuel-it PI maps.

This certainly sounds easier to tune as modifying my cobb maps always seems to brick the car.

Toss Cobb, load MHD, and evaluate our existing BEF maps.

I ave N55 pump BEF (latest version) flashed and c4tless DwnPipe. I'm still getting 3106 codes and SES light. Anyone else have this issue? I did not check the OEM/Catted DwnPipe box when I flashed

Default maps do not disable it. You'd have to modify them in tuner pro manually or contact MHD for help on that if living outside the USA or using for competition race use only.

Thanks for the quick response Terry!

Any update on the "stock throttle" option for the non-E85 BEFs?

I ported Terry's maps from the early E series rom (98G0B) to the late E series rom (9e60b), with a little touch up they should be good to go.

The late E series DME unlock process + MHD flashing through OBD is working as flawlessly for flash only users, so we'll open the beta soon, probably next week.

Thank you so much MHD!
Can't wait to try the BEF on my car this weekend at the track!

Terry let us know whenever you can share those map files. Dyno and Track are waiting this weekend :D

Maps are in the first post. We've not extensively tested them so record a few logs and email those in so we can verify its all good to go after loading.

Terry,
We had a private event at the Drag strip last weekend and I took a couple of logs during 2 of the runs.
The car feels very strong! But it looks like it is not achieveing boost targets.
Current JB4 Settings:

Boost Failsafe PSI: 20
Default wastegate POS: 60
PID Gain: 25
Auto Shift Boost Redux: 25
FF/Wastegate Adaption: 244
Fuel Open Loop: 70

Meth Settings:
Boost Additive: 70
Signal Scaling: 60
Min Flow Boost (PSI): 10

WMI mix: 70/30 (70 ethanol, 30 distiled water)
Ethanol Mix in tank: E30 on 92 oct gas

MHD BEF MAP: 9E60B_PUMP

Let me know if these logs work for you, and also what I can change to achieve boost targets.

I can see the settings in the logs.

The BEF itself looks OK, but boost is pretty low for the WGDC. Normally caused by a boost leak or some other physical issue. But I see you are at around 3000' elevation so maybe that is also a factor. Also change FF to 150, it should not be able to learn above that. Maybe a minor bug there.

Well yeah, I'm actually higher than that, around 5200ft above sea level. (1600 mts).
I will perform a boost leak test next weekend, also my PCV might be cracked since I can hear the annoying cherp when hard breaking, will that may also cause boost pressure to leak?

Also something that I noticed is that my car is building the exact same amount of boost as the ECU_Psi value, so maybe is it avoiding the JB4 commanded boost?

Default late E series support - 08-31-2017, 07:33 AM

After the closed beta testing, we are now ready for the open beta for late E series . Just update your MHD Flasher N55 App to the latest 1.20 version.

Since the procedure on late e-series cars (built around 03/2012) is a little bit different, we would like to describe again the steps needed:
  1. OBD Unlock via a one time bench flash. This can be done only by professional partners which have access to special tuner tools. Ask your local tuner and we can provide them all the information they need in order to get your ECU unlocked. You can also send your ECU to our partners, if you are able to uninstall it yourself.
  2. Install MHD like on early e-series N55 and N54 models. Just be careful with the "flash back to stock" operation. If you use this function than your ECU unlock is deleted and MHD can only be installed after the ECU is unlocked again. If you want stock power than use the "Stage 0" map.

Send us an email mhd.tuning@gmail.com if you have questions!

@MHD,

Was just wondering what's currently being worked on/what we can expect next for the early E series with regards to opening up more tuning options and tables.

Noticed the latest XDF is dated early August but the changelog shows as 'Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/master''?
