Default 17 340i Stock whp with mods?? Help! - 07-20-2017, 05:28 AM

Hey everyone so I have a 17 340i 6speed rwd with BMS Intake, jb4 with ewg harness, c***** d*, and armytrix exhaust. I dyno'd the car not too long ago and only made 338 whp. That's stock power. I was running map 2 at the time. I read a thread with another user making 39x whp. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the jb4 itself not working properly. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Post the graphs and post the logs... without that not much advice can be offered..

Someone else with the same setup just did a dyno and achieved over 420 hp..

It's posted somewhere in this forum....

I want to say Dyno are not all that accurate and can vary from one to another... he best test is to always do a base line then apply your upgrades... if you have a map 0 run post that... the delta is more important than the actual number ..

If not , go back and run a map 0... and lets see

And if you didn't get jb4 logs - get those too..

gotta see the logs. unless the dyno tech wasnt very with it, you may even have a disconnected wire. I would like to hear that exhaust set up though.

Logs are definitely needed but without them I would say not high enough octane.

Would need to see the dyno log and print out for any advice. If its a MD dyno you're making more than you should be. But if its a dynojet less than you should be. Log will shed more light on why either way.

Didn't record any runs on the dyno? That is what we'd want to look at if trying to isolate a power issue.

OK, don't see any obvious issue in the short logs here. For dyno testing be sure to find a dynojet and do a run or two on map4 (stock) for comparison.

If you were running Map 2 on the dyno I would say poor timing was what kept you from making more power. When doing logs in the future you need to log 3rd or 4th gear for most of the gear to get any usable data.

Id like to see the dyno sheet if you could downsize it or something... did you get in a baseline run?

Looks like I was able to get it downsized. The sheet with one pull is map 5 on e85/100 octane. The sheet with multiple pulls has one with baseline run

they look the same to me..

Also your AFR is pretty high - you may want to try to get those trims lowered to see if AFR will drop above 4k rpm...

I have the same issue in my 340i for some reason jb4 does not like the octane so I am dropping timing.

Timing is an ongoing issue for many...

Within 10 minutes and two logs one will have great timing the other flat...

Something is afoot... especially on ign1... very often that is 0 for ...
I run 93 octane vshell (and tried others)

Very frustrating

Not sure why you are doing dyno runs in 3rd gear? It's hard to see much detail during a 4 second pull. But overall, log seems normal to me. In terms of timing it's going to do what it does. If you have timing issues your options are to lower boost, raise octane, and/or play with the IAT spoofing function.

Not sure why they did it at 3rd gear. Had it dyno'd at bimmerfest
