Default Log Review/ FBO W/ Inlets only 13 PSI - 05-20-2019, 09:04 PM

Hello everyone help would be much appreciated. I’m wondering if anyone can look at my logs that I have. I drive a 2013 335is with FBO and inlets. I’m only getting around 12-13 psi of boost, sometimes the car will hit 14 randomly for only a couple of seconds. I’m wondering if I have a boost leak or something. I installed pretty much everything in the course of 2 weeks so I can’t seem to narrow it down. I do know that When I had the car with FBO and inlets without down ***** I was still getting 12 psi of boost. When I installed down ***** it did not change. Last week I ran a little less then 3 gallons of E85 and was getting around 15 psi randomly but more often. Even when I changed to map 2 it would only target 12-13 psi. I live in cal so I only get 91 oct. My car has 50k miles, just did a full tune up with plugs, coils and walnuts blast so everything is really smooth right now. Any response would be great thanks. These two logs are second gear wot pulls.

Both of your logs are Map 5, boost target is likely low due to poor timing/ign_avg typical of socal 91. Map 1 would probably target higher, but its tough. Are you running a BEF other than the 'is' DME?

I am running just the stock is DEM. Just the jb4 piggy backing off of it. I changed to map 1 and I did notice that it would hit a higher boost. I was seeing 14-15 psi more often but it was only for a second. I noticed that when I first go wot that is normally when I hit higher boots 14-15, but it drops right back down to 12 or 13 and stays there. Thanks for the reply, I am posting a log of map 1

Timing looks pretty bad for it just being map 1. Do you have e85 or 100 octane near by?

New log looks perfect for Map 1, non-BEF, and 91 octane. Default Map 1 will target 13 tapering to 10 at redline, Map 2 will be 14.5 tapering. With a little E85 you could probably pull off Map 2. Turn on 6-cyl timing for future logs.

They used to say the 'IS' model could use the BEF settings since it is a better factory tune... but I'm not sure that is still true. Someone at BMS would have to confirm.

Wow, if that timing is considered perfect, gas must be really bad in California.

I do have e85 near by that I can fill up on. I have noticed that my trims jumps around a lot with regular driving. Lastly do you mean enter 5 in the box for IJEOS to turn on 6-cyl timing?

Maybe perfect is not the right word, but basically everything else in the log looked really good. Considering it is 91 there are pretty few corrections and it never bottomed out. But we should see all cylinder timing to be sure.

Correct 5 for IJEOS.

So I filled up on E85 yesterday and put 4 gallons in. I did some pulls today and did not realize that the jb4 switched me to map 4. I figured that map 4 is the safety map, along with that the lights were flashing at me during my pull. Not sure if it over boosted or whats going on.

AFR is high and trims are really high. Increase fol to 90 asap and do a log.

AFR is better. Trims are still quite high but better. I'd like for someone at BMS to look at this. Maybe you just have a weak lpfp. I'd shoot terry an email with a link to this thread. They also should move it to the N54 section.

Looks all normal to me. Trims are not maxing out. AFR in check. Timing in check. Boost right on target.

Is the goal to get the learned target on map5 up?

I was trying to figure out why I was only hitting 12 psi with fbo and inlets. Im not sure if thats due to 91 Oct, and why the jb4 pushed me out of map 5 to map 4.

The switch to map 4 was due to lean AFR. Increasing FOL fixed it.

PHP Code:
[PHP][PHP][PHP
[/PHP][/PHP][/PHP]Hoping someone might be able to help me out here since im having a similar problem

I have a 2014 335i
Its FBO (no inlets)
After finishing my intercooler and EWG Harness install I updated my firmware
and Pumped 4 gallons of E and the rest 93
I was doing some testing which came back as nearly the same before the intercooler and EWG
Not really boosting any higher, around 14-15 and at one point I hit the highest ive ever seen which was 16psi and as soon as it hit it switched me to the Safety Map 4
This was on Map 7
I also tried on Map 5 with it also switching me to the Safety Map so now im here trying to figure out why its doing that and why it wont hit Target Boost still as its always been around 14-15 psi even with E30 mix before the EWG harness+intercooler and wont really leave that area.

All help is much appreciated
( I don't know much about tuning, never played with any specific settings )
