Default Installed the new drag setup tonight! WooHoo!!! - 07-16-2015, 06:37 PM

I just got the MT ET Streets in size 255/50-16 installed today. At first I was really concerned with fender clearance, as I'm no stranger to witnessing tires being wasted on a launch due to lack of clearance. But after some testing I'm feeling a little better. I'm not saying I'm in the clear, but I suspect I might be.

I had my wife record a video of me power braking the car to see how close the tires got to the fenders, and it appears the clearance is fine. Now I just need to get this thing back to the track on a decent DA day for some mid 11's on stock turbos and stock inlets.

The wheels stick out a little too far for my liking, but I had to install 15mm spacers to avoid additional grinding on the calipers. I didn't want to push my luck with more grinding, especially not with a 1/2mile event coming up.

Cool, but I hope you have upgraded half shaft or at least some diff lock kit for all that traction.

No, but I've been looking for spare half shafts just in case. I'm on stock turbo's, so I'm not seeing crazy torque yet.

I want to go every week, but I'm holding off for decent weather. I typically only run the car if the DA is tolerable. Otherwise it's just auto abuse.

It's going to be 98F at Beech Bend this weekend, so this week's a bust.

So, to answer your question, I don't know, but hopefully soon though.
