Default N54 135i Boost spike issue!!! - 05-12-2019, 11:48 PM

Hi Guys!

I recently purchased a 135i ; she’s drives great & since
purchased the mobile JB4 app to conduct some logs running map 2.

I’ve noticed in 3rd and 4th gear; I’ve been getting some
pretty nasty boost spikes and timing pulled when this happens.

Attached are some graph logs and my user settings.

Car has:
N54 zF auto
Jb4 + unknown bef (bb) - came with car
DCi
Intercooler
Dump
BMS charge pipe / factory diverted valves

Anyhelp would be highly appreciative!

Thanks guys!

Your FF is maxed @ 150 & your actually pretty under target- I think you have a leak somewhere...

Thanks for looking Dave.

2nd gear doesn’t seem to spike. It only seems to happen in 3rd or 4th if I ramp up @ 2500rpm and WOT.

If I gradually accelerate to WOT to 3000-3500rpm. It doesn’t spike. Will upload a log.

The "spike" was all under the target. You spooled up then lost boost pressure for a duration. That plus the 150 FF, almost certainly a leak somewhere, like Dave said. Would check DV's and vac lines to DVs, then check charge pipe and couplers all the way to the FMIC and outlet.

Wasn't as bad in the newer log, but still a similar situation and likely a leak IMO.

Did always have a sneaker suspicion DV could be leaking. Will check everything this weekend.

1. Check and clean DVs
2. Charge pipe connections
3. FMIC connections
4. Vacuum lines

And report back.

Sounds good.

If possible do more than just visual check- boost leak test should uncover the issue for u.

Bypass and blocked stock diverter valves to eliminate if DV leakingz essentially running zero DVs. Still not hitting and holding boost.

Vacuum lines look all good.

Time to check intercooler clamps and joiners.

If all fails; a smoke test will need be done.

Hi guys! So a update!

Found a charge pipe O ring leak. Replaced and car felt better but still wasn’t hitting target. Suspicious DVs.

Have now blocked off the DVs.

And the car feels soooo much better. I reset the wgdc to 90 and did some logs
In both map 0 and map 1

She’s not perfect but what do you guys think? I feel like I get a more consistent log with 2nd gear (6AT) then 3rd gear.

Who set your fuel bias and duty?

Set those to default & relog map 1

Previous owner. So reset fuel bias. And log map one?

Don’t worry about map 2?

I can not love you anymore right now! Since buying the car ; been headaches!

Logs of map 1 & 2 🤗

Finally can BEF MHD now my boost problems resolved.

Do you recommend BEF or full flash and JB4 on gauge only

so you can see what all 6 cylinders are reading vs just #1 cylinder

helps to see timing drops on all cylinders vs just 1
