Default stock intake restrictiveness? - 04-18-2019, 06:39 PM

Heylo,
How restrictive is the OEM intake piping leading to the turbo up and over the N55 engine? I currently have the Injen system but recently, I'm running into issues with space(PI manifold, injectors, rail, GTS hood, etc.). The factory piping is flatter/squished and would fix my rubbing issues but I'm worried I'll be choking the PS2. Could I use the factory piping with a K&N filter at the end or something?

I wish there was an F-series style intake system for the E-series where the intake pipe comes around front instead of over the engine...

Hey thomas, I was hoping there wasn't a big difference between intakes. I think I'm going to get the BMS flat intake thing for $199. It'll give me the hood and manifold clearance margins I need and not sacrifice power. I'd like to build a fresh air box around it someday to keep the engine bay heat out. Maybe try to find a used factory box on ebay I can cut up
