Default Misfire at higher rpm - 03-05-2020, 11:15 AM

Hello all! Iíve got a speedtech bottom mount single turbo n54. Having a misfire issue at the top of 3rd gear. Can someone review this log and see if thereís something I need to modify. The car runs perfect up until 6k rpm after that it misfires mostly on 3rd gear on. Iím trying to get ready for a half mile event Saturday so I need some input. Car has everything needed. Fueling, big fmic, pi, you name it.

I didnít do a proper 3rd gear log. Just went 2nd to 3rd and up until the misfire then 4th gear on decel.

What cylinder does the car miss on?

Your trims could use a little work, & your LPFP is touching into the high 50s.

What fuel? Full e85?

5 and 6 was the last one I got. I’m throwing on my bucket less stage 3 on tonight. I have a bucketed stage 3 now but it’s been on the car for 2 years now.

I’m running e54

Wonder if it’s fuel related...

Get the new s3 installed, let’s see if that helps your fuel pressure in general

Just curious- what are your plugs gapped to, and your MT correct?

Plugs are gapped to .018. I just picked up some new ones. Pulled them today and looked toasty. I’m going to gap to .020. AT.

Let’s see if the new plugs help.

Did your car misfire up top with oem coils too?

Could only run the car on 15lbs anything higher and it would sputter. I did get a cyl 6 misfire code. Now I just need to determine if itís a injector related issue or spark. I checked compression a few runs in a cyl 6 is good. It did the same thing on two sets of coils.

I did notice the spark plug on that cylinder looked a little dark so Iím wondering if itís a injector related issue.

Weíre you running in the z4?? I was in the black e90

Hereís are a few logs.

I’m gonna throw my old spark plug on cyl 6. I bet it’s going to be something so simple as a bad spark plug :/

Sometimes it’s like that, which sucks, BUT a relief at the same time.

Did you jump back to oem/ eldor coils too?
