Default what is the G5 hard flash? - 01-08-2016, 09:32 PM

i just noticed this today on the bms site: http://www.burgertuning.com/N54_JB4_upgrades.html

What exactly is this $30 mail in G5 Hard Flash???

is it the same as just flashing the firmware with the latest code that we can do for free on our own?

Probably for people who don't have a data cable, aren't technical, and/or just don't want to mess with it themselves.

One of Terry's posts ( We'll be making some EEPROM changes soon to accommodate some new&improved user adjustment options ) maybe it's related to that EEPROM changes flash

Exactly. You send the board in and we flash the latest firmware to it. Those who update at home would never use this. The one caveat being older JB4 boards have some fuses on the chip that can only be set at flash time. Some day we may add features that requires those fuses to be set a certain way so in that case older boards would need to be sent in to be flashed using this option.
