Check the ISO thread and no if you got G5 is non ISO out of the box = you need to cut the diodes, upload firmaware.
Its pretty stable and smooth so far. I went ISO about 2 weeks ago. Way smoother.

I can always update to ISO in the future.
When I received the G5 upgrade, I went ahead and cut the diodes and went with the alpha ISO firmware. Might as well do it now when you have the car apart. Not that it's a ton of work, but you'll save some time in a few weeks.

Although I'm sure Terry has a lot more testing he wants to do, I doubt you'll think of this as an "alpha" product once you get it installed.

Ok then i will just do it. Cutting the diodes is simple...but how do i get the ISO firmware? I'm sorry...never had a turbo engine and since i'm from Holland it's not always so easy to understand everything i read

thats exactly why you should get acquainted with the tune first in his std version and try to learn how it works etc.
Also more interesting to actually feel the difference when you go from std. G5 to G5 ISO.
up to you, the firmware for the ISO is available on a thread here, just look for it.

If anyone has the time to test it out email me and I'll code it up for you.
I would like to try this, just to have it be a possibility.. Emailing you now.. and im sure Ben would be interested as well...

To be honest the difference for me wasn't as pronounced as for others. The boost is just more stable and doesn't overshoot for the same spool speed. I think most people who had issues with the old setup had either problems with their car or tune settings. The iso seems a lot more fool proof in that regard.

You will be happy with either, but ISO is only going to get better.

My 335i is stock, except for the JB4 G5 and DCI. I am going to run a 60/40 (98oct/E85) most of the the time. Can i benefit if i cut the diodes and upload the ISO firmware? Or is the ISO firmware already preloaded?

Rob
I don't envision us releasing another G5 integrated firmware version. So all future updates for the G5 will be ISO. May as well jump on board now in my opinion.

Thats why I went ISO.

The car feels much smoother now and at first felt slower. But thats just cause i dont get boost spikes. Once in the upper RPMs it feel much faster. So glad I went from G4 to G5 to G5iso. G5iso FTW.

spool is improved vs. ISO 10, definitely not a placebo effect either. No oscillations to report of.

With the BMS flash map loaded I'm assuming we can log with the G5 or the Cobb AP?

Nope, with the JB4 active you can only log with the JB4 interface.

you dont need to open them....
you need the jb4 interface on the laptop to load the firmware into JB4/G5 with the usb cable.

10/23 Interface

1) Added G5 ISO to the drop down, removed G5 integrated (since we won't have any future G5 integrated firmware updates), and stream lined the other model options.

2) Added interface support for the 3.5 bar map sensor for "large turbo" cars.

I get some serious rattle when lagfix > 10. I was parking in an underground garage and noticed it.. I thought my wastegates were going bad! Lagfix on 0 fixed it though.

I was looking at your boost which seems low for your bolt-ons (under 15psi) if I am reading the graph correctlty. What map did your run?
