I personally don't think it's as important as you guys think it is. The oil pump is cam driven, so you would instantly know if you're not getting enough pressure.

We can do anything but everything has trade offs. The more data you request the slower everything else goes as the DME can only spit out so much info.

its not ONE more, I dont know when it all started but for arguments sake 6 cyl timing was ONE (maybe FIVE) more, ATF temp was TWO more, oil pressure would be THREE more... etc...
I am no code writing genius but seems like there could be an option in the app to enter a choice of 0/1 like with the TMAP but you are choosing whether or not you are monitoring oil pressure. Then the problem with that is I don't know if the rest of the parameters could scale back on their own to make some ?bandwidth? available for the oil temp info? or would he have to rewrite the commands and also have a "1" value input drop the requested intervals of other info?
all this aside I would like to monitor it as well

So do it, you're really starting to make a habit of teasing things.. We haven't seen any progress in a couple months now. Not that your required to produce, but things like coolant temp and minimum WG would be good to have, you've claimed them done over a month ago but no love for us.
Honestly if it's a compensation/non copycat thing, make a new distribution platform I'll pay, most people will pay let's just figure we need to do to get things moving again.
(Sorry for the slight highjack)

Could we have the option to turn on or off the parameters in which we request? This way we can log what we want and leave what we don't want. Maybe also limit the number of parameters we can log

This.
If your oil pump takes a crap logging isn't going to help you. Your motor is gone unless you somehow caught it pretty much instantaneously.
Are people really dropping motors due to oil pumps failing? I'm not even sure how they'd fail in the traditional sense since it's not electrical or belt-driven.

Only real reason I want to monitor it is to see what it is before and after an oil cooler retrofit...

It's useful to know what is going on with your engine before an issue occurs. E.g., how fast pressure builds at startup, and knowing your oil pressure while driving can tell you if you're low on oil.

Cam? The Oil pump is chain driven off the lower crank sprocket. Also doubt you'd instantly know. Signs of a failing oil pump are predictable with a gauge. I'm all for adding oil gauge
