Most thefts I have heard of here in the uk have been to do with a weakness with the security system which BMW are not admitting too. If you look on the bimmer forums there's quite a few articles on there about it too.

If I had perfected a 2nd gear launch, and not launched in 1st gear, it would have been better, ... but the car felt amazing and shifted good, even after many abusive power runs since '08.
Next time out, maybe Thursday if the weather holds up, I'll be prepared and have the car set up right (and with Terry's terrific help with logs and advice), I can try some more aggressive settings.

With the car running, take a piece of card board and hold up to each tail pipe; observe results. Then enable the canflap option and hold the card board up to each tail pipe again. Should have different results.

All it does it close off the drivers side tail pipe and route all the exhaust back to the other pipe. I just had my exhaust out a few days ago. It's a terrible simple design

Anyone know the max oil and water flow rates at over 6000 rpm? Trying to decide if I need to add more capacity or cooling to both for South Florida summer track days. Running RBs at 18.5 psi.

Don't know flow rates, but post a pic of your oil cooler & use the MaxCool option.

@Vroom, Not the issue....I have a 40 row and 16 row dual oil cooler setup. Looking for flow rates to see how quickly oil and water flow round trip above 6000 rpm, and then to see if I need to add capacity to coolant and oil. We have only so much space and airflow and I use a lot already between the radiator, intercooler, 2 oil coolers, and dual race brake ducts to the caliper and wheel hub.

Update: last night at the track I managed a 11.10 @ 124. Awful fishtail out of hole even with 2nd gear launch and MTs. Track was not dried out. I'll try again on Sunday. 10s are getting close. Oh, and NO NITROUS!

Very good start for the track conditions. With a little more aggressive tuning and a solid low 1.6 60' I see a 10 second run in your future!

Wow that's awesome! The trap seems low, do you have quite a bit more room to push boost on the RBs?

What kind of DA were you dealing with? That trap is awfully low for a 75 add?

I really don't know how much boost the RBs can handle. I dialed in a 75 additive and could have used more octane to max it out.
My best trap last night was 127. Keep in mind it was a Thursday night test & tune with a poor, non-prepped track. Good launches and a decent track are paramount to breaking personal records.
One nice tidbit: my 11.2 run at 127 let me reel in and pass a very nice GT-R at the 3/4 mark. He jumped out in front a good car-length at the start. That brought a lot of Corvette guys over to my car!
Cheers!

Seat out, but 2 gallons of meth and 1/2 tank fuel. I'd like to find out how to reduce the weight without sacrificing the daily driving comfort. What do you think of removing the exhaust system entirely and blow straight out of the *********? For the track only, of course!

I think it will whack out your o2 sensors and cause all sorts of fuel anomalies. I think that's what Cobb said at least.
You need to get that car somewhere cold up north. I got a feeling it's got higher trap speeds in it

I've done it just around town to see how loud it would be, etc. Once drove to the track 300 miles round trip with the rear muffler section off. With a 1 series it's fairly easy to do and saves 30#. You just make a little bracket to hold up the midpipes.

So is there any chance a 0-60 readout is ever going to make it to JB4? I know you haven't gotten into the display but maybe use the speedo to read the time back?
