Tried that no luck. I'm getting 12volts from the switch both opening and closing but the motors don't want to open. The flaps aren't stuck either. I was able to force them open about a credit card thickness

Did the shop weld the by-passes into the exhaust with the "blades and motors" still bolted to the weld flange? Try unbolting one and power it up directly from the battery as suggested.

I'm going to try it wired to the battery. Nothing has been installed to the exhaust yet. Install is set for Tuesday so I'm trying to see if everything is working properly first.
UPDATE: connecting to the battery did not work either. Same results as when tapped through a fuse. I hear a click from the motor.

Very good idea. Two defective bypasses at the same time seems unlikely but not impossible. If they are defective..... send back for refund.... and run like hell from supplier!
So DMH has failed me again...I did not receive the new cutouts today as promised. Does that mean they're a bad company? Dont think so, but they're failing in customer service. He even assured me they would be here by Friday if he 2nd day it on Wednesday! I wanted them ready for EuroSunday, but it may be pouring now so it may get canceled. I could just manually leave them open and run "muffler delete". Here are some pictures of the install.
DMH's product came with plates to cover the open hole whenever the cutouts are removed. So I had my installer just do this and I'll complete on my own when I receive the new cutouts. Installer looked around and figured this was the best spot he could install them. He mentioned this may have an X pipe effect. Here are the pics...
To complete the install, there are 2 grommets located above the cutouts that supposedly lead into the trunk and from there I'll run the wire along the kick plate to the front wherever I decide to place the switch.
Completion pictures and videos will come eventually...for those who are wanting to do this, I hope you have better luck with your experience with DMH.
I'm in for pics... sound clips... before/after dyno... the more information the better.
I'd love to do this on my xi if it were possible, but I think I'd only want to do it if they could fit pre ***... So to clarify, these open at the push of a button? Where did you put the button?

Seems odd. I've often argued with my friend till we are blue in the face because he insist my car needs the back pressure and I keep reminding him it's turbo and the pressure behind the turbo is all it needs and if I dumped from the turbo it would be the optimal exhaust path for power. Any ideas why you precieved less HP?
Most likely it would be air getting in the open end of the ******** and screwing up the 02 sensor readings. Make sure you leave enough pipe between the 02 sensor and the atmosphere. Obviously the larger the pipe the longer it would need to be as exhaust velocity will be lower hence making it easier for air to get to the sensor. So maybe put the dumps a little way into the exhaust rather than on the DP.
So has anyone dynod their car to show proof of loss or gain? im really interested in this im running c less ***, and no secondary *** going to muffler. id probably put the cut out closer to the muffler. but im curious about dyno results thanks guys!
I just met a new neighbor who works at a shop with a dyno and he just dyno'd another 335i that was running all kinds of maps. I told him I was just curious what hp I was putting to the wheels. When I set this up I'll be sure to do open and close and see if there's any change, but the sound is awesome when you get on it. Plus I have the control to keep it "classy"
Sorry I've been away from the forums for a few months now. Took a break from all the mods.
I have not dyno'd. Wanted to, but never had the time to set it up...I dont think there's much gains. I would do the ******* DP's then dyno it because that would yield positive gains.
