It certainly isn't equal length, and I suspect it was changed to be cheaper than N55. N55 manifold has the really nice thermal shields on it which can't be cheap to make. I suspect there is little between these if anything. Turbo looks to be similar size as well.

The only hope I see is for the cast exhaust housing piece to outflow the N55 one. It will make more power if that's the case.

I'm picking up a 340i on Monday and was just searching to see if you guys had a JB for it yet? Would it be a new version? I beleive the N54 and N55 are different versions. I have a 2008 E92 N54 with a JB4 G5 but I'm moving on to a 4 door and xDrive. I'll keep watching this thread.

Still waiting for our car. They say any day now. Once we have it we'll start developing a tune for it. The current F30 JB4 stuff may carry over, or may not, depending on some yet to be determined variables. We'll get it tuned one way or another!

Terry - should I save my E Series N55 JB4 for the 340i or just sell it used? I'm guessing it won't work with the B58 but didn't want to part with it to soon. I know it's probably too early to know but I figured you might have insight into what makes up those boards. I am planning to remove it today before trading it in.

There was some sort of a shipping delay from SA and ours won't be here until around 11/3. Sigh.

I guess better late than never.

Will the higher compression ratio affect tuning potential?

I'm sure they're at SEMA in Vegas, so whether it came or not doesn't really matter, its not getting picked up.

It's at the local port waiting for a software update before it can be imported in to CA. Sigh. Wait continues.

Congrats on your upcoming delivery Terry. It will be interesting to see how the new B Series engines can be tuned. I've read that BMW is moving in the direction of higher compression ratios and smaller turbos with these engines.

Still at the port. Some sort of a strike or something and 7000 cars are backed up. I've got plenty to keep busy with until it arrives so no biggie.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's the case. Half the bloody country is striking about this or that at the moment

30k in repairs? Holy **** x 1000. How does that even happen. That's definitely the worst I've ever heard of in Bmw world. You're better off buying new and selling at 40k if that's the case
