What I am getting at is the actual seal where the injector is pressed into the opening. To check it out will require removing the spacer and inspecting for any looseness between the injector and the hole.
I have 2 examples of this: One is a very specific thread on someone finally chasing this down after nothing else fixed the problem. They wrapped the injector with something to make it fit tighter and it worked well enough than replacing the head.
The second is my own example: I had a misfire that the dealer diagnosed and they saw that ALL of my injectors where missing the rings (from a previous dealer service prior to me owning it). They were so concerned they might need to replace the head (under warranty) that they called in a BMW engineer/inspector.
