I cannot imagine what would affect the myAudi program to think that.

Thanks for the help! The weird thing is I don't have CEL on. I'm assuming after I do "read" i "delete" the codes?
As for that, I think the iOS version of OBD11 is just buggy as hell, causing problems. I've seen posts where they made a backup (like I did) to prevent this from happening and ironically, it broke the sliding sunroof code while doing so. I just copied the values back to original and it worked.

The codes are most likely soft codes and ECU will trigger a engine light or EPC if it happens over a certain amount of events.

You're right I think it's one of those soft codes. I had to clear it twice for it to disappear. All good now

'18 GTI, stock. I was getting an intermittent EPC light and loss of boost/power on map 3. Map 0 did not fix the issue, but removing the JB4 did.
Turns out I had a failing battery, could this have been messing with the JB4? I'd like to put it back on but don't want to risk any damage to my car.

Its possible. If it does occur when its back on use the JB4 to read the code you getting which will direct us to a quicker resolution of the issue.

Will do. It's been running great without for a week now so I'm confident the car is fine at this point.
The codes I was getting before removing the unit were:
4F1B - no description
3ABB - fuel rail pressure circuit - low input
0000 - no description
2600 - no description
Along with a slew of OBD codes, which is how I found the battery issues. No codes since installing and registering the new battery.

Anyone know what codes 3AD2 and 3AE2 are? I get them running on map 4 on a 2018 S3.

Check your if your fuel open loop is 45. If so then lower by 5 otherwise set to 45 and see if the faults persists.
Also set autoshift boost redux to 70 if not set already.

Just an update in case anyone is searching.
After a new battery my JB4 has been running without issue for 3 days, no codes.

Speed limiter hack / dsg firmware -
08-24-2020, 04:21 AM
Dear George
I was wondering if u guys are possibly working on;
1. Speed limiter hack (for vehicles to run past speed limiter).
2. Dsg hacks/firmware codes into the JB4 to have quicker gear changes, optimal gear change identification and adjusting pops & Bangs.
3. Are there some new firmware updates on the table?
Lastly I could not find the description of error 6D00.
Thx in advance

Speed limiter by the looks of things cannot be done. Same applies for the DSG.
We always making improvements on firmware but are pretty much limited at this point feature wise.

My new JB4 has the 60/87//5 firmware loaded. Is this the stable, beta or alpha? The hex file names are different than the firmware number so I'm not sure what version I'm running and if I should update. Also, is map 4 ok for a 7 speed DSG GTI? I see on the first page it specifically says it for the R model. I just want to make sure its ok for a non R model as well.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have a MY2020 Cupra 290 GPF on order for early September.
I have heard of a long term issue with the JB4 on the GPF model.
The explanation is below from a well known UK VAG tuner.
Could someone please advise on this and whether or not an unreleased firmware patch is required?
Many thanks,
Tim

That is the Beta version.
Yes, map 4 is good if you on 93US/98 ron. For max performance on the front wheel drive cars map 3 for 98ron.

He most likely doesnt understand how it works or just want to sell flash tunes.
The ECU sits on the maximum AFR table of the ECU since the feedback once boost is reached is that of a stock car. The AFR biasing in turn makes the car run richer avoiding high EGT values. On some GPF cars we actually need to reduce the AFR biasing so it is quite the opposite.

Been running Map 2 on my '17 GTI Sport DSG w/ 92 octane w/ 8.4 since 1/2019 without issue. No other modifications other than a Cobb DSG tune as well.
Just upgraded to 8.5.1 and read about the new Map 3 and 4. Would either be too aggressive for my setup, given that peak boost is slightly higher than Map 2, and I can't get 93 octane around here? Also, would there be any advantage of Map 4 over 3, given that I already have a DSG tune and haven't been having issues with launch control/shifting after launch, or are there additional (non-DSG) benefits?
Sorry for the questions if they've already been answered, tried as best I could to glean useful information elsewhere in this thread and still had these lingering.

Map 4 has a specific fix for the launch control for the 7Speed Haldex equipped cars.
Map 3 make slightly less torque so at the bottom of the rpm range there wont be a problem. Havent seen to many logs with it in summer though on 92 so best to email some logs in to george@burgertuning.com .

Few issues concerning jb4 -
08-29-2020, 12:23 PM
Hello I bought my Jb4 unit around a month ago and have observed a few issues, maybe some of you have experienced the same before.[*]The module casing heats up after I drive and check on it, is that normal?[*]I try to log my runs on my surface pro but no information shows up when I press stop and display[*]I’m wasting a lot more gas that usual, I run a 7 mile trip and see 15 miles gone from my display
Everything is installed correctly from what I see and I’m running the latest firmware. Any suggestions?

The casing heat is not a issue.
Can you take a picture of where you have fitted the AFR wire, its easier to email it through to george@burgertuning.com.
If you want at as a test remove AFR wire and go map 1 and see what the consumption does.

Hi George,
Helping my nephew out with his 2019 Rabbit GTI. JB4 Map 1. He is in SoCal. 110 degrees there now. He had some shuddering issues. Here are the codes it threw. I had him clear the codes, set to map 0, drive it around. That cleared up the issues. The codes where 3AE2, 431A, 0000, 2700, 2600, 0026 and 0000 again. After clearing the codes and resetting to map 1 I had him run a few logs. Attached those logs. I am more familiar with the N54 platform. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
He has the wrong firmware loaded. He need to load 60 - VAG Gen3.
On settings get him to make the fuel open loop 45 and boost safety 26. Fuel bias values must all be 100.
