Default BimmerREFS - BMW part catalogs for Android - 02-23-2021, 04:31 AM

Hello BMW lovers!
After long time working on this personal project, finally I can show you BimmerREFS.
It is an app available in Play Google Store (still not available in iOS) designed and developed by myself.

The app allows you to find any part number, no matter which model of BMW (or other brand related like Mini or Rolls Royce) quickly and intuitive way.
You are able to see part diagrams, and check compatibility of the parts among different cars.

I developed the app a year ago, but the use of it was completely personal, hence I did not share to anybody nor publish to the store, but then some friends saw it and asked to share it with them.
By that time, the design was horrible, though I did not invest much time on it because my intention was to use it couple of times, but then I promised them to work on the design to make it nicer.

So, eventually this is what I got.

The app is available in English and Spanish. You will be able to find by using the formulary, selecting serie, model, year, etc...
It is also possible to find parts by introducing the VIN code for a quicker access.

The app is FULL FREE and NO ADS.

I share it with you so you can use it in case of need. It's pleasant when someone uses something you created.

You can report any problem, bad translation (english is not my mother language) or whatever; and I will fix it ASAP
The app is going to be improved more. I have lot of ideas I am already working on and will come soon.

So this is all, I hope you like it and it is useful.
Cheers!

Is it up to date? I can't find any ETKs newer than 1/20. Not real useful when your car was built 8/20.

It fetchs data from BMW official databases. If the data you are looking for is not found, the reason is BMW did not update the database yet.

The potential is there, but like I thought, it’s not up to date. It only goes up to 12/19 builds. The dealer can pull up my 8/20 build G30 LCI, so there’s definitely a newer version of the ETK out there somewhere.

Other things I noticed; pulling up a car by the last 7 doesn’t work anymore. BMW has been reusing them, so you need to use the full VIN. My M550 comes up as an E46 320i from Europe with the last 7.
I do like the design though. If you can update it, and maybe add in a VIN decoder with the cars options, I think you could easily charge a couple bucks for it.

Hello Mike! Bimmerrefs finally have a 2022 database!! could you please share the last 7 digits of the vin? so I can implement a functionality that when you input the last 7 digits and they are used in more than one car, be able to choose between such cars.

Thank you.

Thank you so much, I have checked and indeed both vin last 7digits are shared by different cars. This will help a lot to improve the apps!

Regarding to the iOS version, its already out there!

Kind regards,
Manuel

Hi @Mike_L , I wanted to thank you for your colaboration.

Android and iOS app have been updated and both integrate the option of selecting the car when a VIN is used by multiple cars.

Enjoy!
