Is column D (Target) the amount of boost being added by the JB4? .... or am I reading it incorrectly?

You view logs in the JB4 interface. Target is the requested boost over stock.

That's what I was thinking. His target boost gets higher than the stock 3psi.

Here is an RS stock by Stillen Dyno (left) compared to SS stock +7 map.(right)
We are trying to configure boost build up of a stock SS from 3k rpm up to be close to stock RS.

We are not hitting close to the RS on lower RPM since the JB4 Map 7 lower RPMs is at 6psi target boost. (For controllability from a dig)I believe we can try 7PSI target from 3k to at least get the same boost as the stock RS.

Below is the JB4 map 7 (+7 boost request)

So, you can copy this to your Map 6 and change the lower RPm boost at 7 PSi or more? ( prefer start at 2.5k and not 2k)

On 93 with E85 mixture just to be safe and log again and see if
It hits the same boost as the stock RS on lower RPM. ( Check AFR to be safe )

Or wait for any RS owner to post their stock boost log and +3.

Thank you very much!

I'm not sure how relevant this is. But in my rs I notice that the ecu seldom calls for the full boost. From anywhere between 4750 to 5250 it starts to taper the boost. Not always but 4 out of 5 times it ecu pulls back boost early.

Does anyone know why?

To Mattds:

It’s true, that is the reason why i asked any RS owner with stock setup on Jb4
to give us some logs with stock boost and +3.

Stillen dyno is not a real world number. No wind resistance etc...

We would like to get a nice 3rd gear pull from 2k to 6.5 rpm and also 0-60 run (both in D and VDC off)I guess for 3rd gear pull manual is more accurate since you know you are in the right gear.

Hey Terry or anyone that knows the answer ive been running map 7 on 93 if I do e85 blend do I need to switch to map 6 or what do I need to change
to run a e85 blend? or can I just add e85 and stay on map 7..it looks like there is a place to put in how much e85 you are running..

Also I took it to the track the other nite on map 7 with a full tank of 93 and ran a 12.4 with a 112mph trap jb4 is my only mod 😁

Your running map 7 on just 93 gas??? I always wondered if My car can pull it off, as of now I would assume yes due to the cold weather weíve been having in NYC but donít know for the spring summer time??

Great times! The more octane the better, so just mix in some E85 and keep the map the same. Curious to see how the E85 octane improves your times.

No offense taken. There are several factors that come into play with ET. In my particular case it was a warm day, motor was starting to heat soak, still running the stock **** run flats, and only had one pass that day. Even though there are some RS's that have run 12.6 stock, the majority usually run between 12.7-13.0

First time I pump an E85 today. So I have a half a tank (10 gallons ) of Shell V-powered 93 (no ethanol mix) then pumped another 7.5 gal of Exon Mobile with 10% Ethanol mix.
So I have a total of 17.5 gal of 93 octane that includes a .75 gallons of Ethanol from the Mobile 93 gas. Went and drove to KwikTrip to add a 2 gal of E85.

Total tank gallons in the tank are 19.5.
I guess I have now a total gal of .75+1.75 gal = 2.5 gal Ethanol with a 17 gal of 93 Octane.

How many % ethanol I have now in my tank? LOL!

Next fill up I’ll just use a straight 93 Octane (w/10% ethanol) from Kwiktrip and E85 from them too. Kwik trip is also a Top Tier gas station in the country.

Do you happen to have a Jb4 log? That will be great to review how the boost, AFR and timing look like on 93 Octane.

yes all bone stock stock tires rwd no logs yet.
was between 45-50 out was a little warmer today it felt/sounded today like it was pulling timing thats why I was asking about the e85. I just put some e85 in and it feels/sounds better Idk that it feels any faster..although my butt dyno has not been that accurate because did not think i was going to run a 12.4 with tc on with it off I ran 12.5

Impossible to tell without testing the e85. I normally test my e85 as it varies pump to pump and from season to season. I also never do a full fill up and find it easier to just do 1gal of e85 for every 3 gal of 93 resulting in approximately 95 octane e29 mix.

Thereís a note on KwikTrip E85 pump that says minimum of 51% Ethanol content.
Which means theres a huge 49% variability on Ethanol % content even if it is marked E85....

I just found this website today and I did put in my fuel info and ended up at
94 Octane.

This is why I regularly test e85. I found Shell e85 to be horrendous in my area year round hovering around 55 percent. Speedway has been very consistent at 85 percent or better during the summer and at 75 percent currently. I carry a testing kit in the trunk which comprises of ethanol tester and an empty clear bottle which I pump a small sample into for testing. If the sample is clear and smells sweet, it's safe to assume that it has good ethanol content and is prime for testing. If it's yellow and smells like gasoline, I dump the sample into the tank and move on.

So last night decided to try map 2 on jb4 . Been running on map 1 for about two weeks with no problems. Current fuel was e85 30% and 70% 91. Terry if you can check it out for me if its ok to run map 2 or not. Forgot to mention I have 2018 Redsport awd. Thanks

Default New here with some questions - 01-08-2018, 06:00 AM

New to the forum and specifically this section which is where my interest is at. I come from a Dual Pulley Audi S4 that was an awesome vehicle that I enjoyed fro 3yrs. Went from a Stage 1 Flash, to a Stage 2 Pulley and Tune then to a full Dual Pulley set up including all the supporting mods including a full size 5x stock size intercooler. Car was a beast and ran mid 11's at 119mph with ease. With the above mods however came issues related to failing catalysts and the weak point of failing Heat Exchangers of which there was one on either side under the supercharger. They are simliar to the left and right side air coolers near the turbos on to of the VR motor. They would fail and leak coolant down onto the cylinders causing fouled plugs and misfires.

What types of impacts on EGT and cooling system concerns are present with the JB1 Piggyback? Seems like many here have been running this set up since last summer which is fine, but what about longer term impacts? It took 20,000 miles before any issues on my Audi but with the turbo's here already spinning at 220k how much more heat is being pushed through adding 3psi?

Sorry to come in so late with basic Q's but I appreciate the feedback as I'd love to up the power in my 2018 Redsport AWD a bit. Especially down low.
