Question Would you do more than one track day on the same engine oil? - 11-28-2016, 06:14 AM

Would you do more than one track day on the same engine oil without changing it in between?

Basically, I was at the track yesterday, and I have another track day coming up in 10 days.

I run Redline 5W-40, the Ester based Group V stuff (in other words, top ****).

I usually do 10,000km (7,500 miles) changes, I am up to 6000km (~3,700 miles) on the current oil.

Do I need to change it pre-maturely before I hit the track again in 10 days time?

Highest oil temp I saw at the track yesterday was 130 C (266 F)

I change my oil after 3 days on the track. Roughly 8 hours of track time. My car has well over 5000 track miles on it. For the last 3 years about the only driving it sees is on the track and to and from the track. Oil change every 3 track days, brake fluid flush after two events, automatic trans fluid at the start of each season, coolant every two years.
