Ok to be 99% sure I'm not missing something, I just looked through all 47 attachments for this thread. There is no BEF map provided for 98F0B.

Terry, at your earliest convenience please advise on if 98F0B is available and just not on this thread, or if it is something that still needs to be developed

I'd like to get some idea about how I should be planning to re-evaluate my situation if I cannot get a BEF for 98F0B

Assuming you have an AP and COBB's 98F0B maps, download the zip file linked by Steve in post #166 of this thread

Inside it you'll find a couple of excel files I created highlighting the differences between Terry's Pump & E85 maps and COBB's Stage 2 Aggressive + FMIC OTS flash.

Load the above COBB map in ATR and then copy / paste across the tables from the excel files to create a 98F0B editable BMS Pump & E85 map.

I think that should work

Another option would be to use something like WinKFP to flash the car to say 98G0B - you'll need software for this (use google) and a 'coding' cable plus lots of your time to read, re-read and understand what you need to do

Maps offered by Terry in post #1 - use the pump or E85 version depending on mods / fuel for your ROM. For example, I have 98G0B. You'll need a COBB AP to load and your N55 needs to have a MEVD172 ECU.

To check the ECU enter the last 7 characters of your VIN in realoem (Serial number) / browse parts / engine electrical system.

Under control units there should be MEVD172 & MEVD176. Click either - whichever offers parts is the one you have. You don't have the one which says 'no parts found matching your car'. You can also email your VIN to COBB and they will check for you.

If you have a MEVD176 then you can't flash Terry's BEFs.

Default TMAP Sensor - 04-15-2016, 11:19 AM

At the top of the thread it says a N20 3.5bar TMAP sensor is also required.

I have a type B connection. Do I need to buy anything additional if I am going to be fitting a MSL420 Hybrid Turbo?

Thanks

From a sensor perspective, the type of turbo does not matter.

The stock sensor is only good to around 21psi so where people produce above this a 3.5 or 4 bar sensor is needed.

If you're type B, as per Terry's post #1, you do not need an adaptor - "those with type B do not need an adapter to connect the 3.5bar TMAP sensor".

Default TMAP Sensor - 04-16-2016, 09:19 AM

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I am targeting running at about 17 psi with my new turbo. Therefore from what you saying I should be ok without the TMAP Sensor correct? Should I then just follow the instructions on Page 1 to set Map 6? Will that be all I need to do?

Thanks

If you're targetting 17psi you may be Ok with just a JB4 and FF wires. The 'larger turbo' requirements are generally aimed at higher levels than you are targetting.

Why are you fitting the MSL420?

Cool, which map is best to use? should I reconfigure map 6?

its from a company (Mosselman Turbo) I've been dealing with for a long and I trust their parts, work and recommendations. The guy who owns the company is also very knowledgeable and Helpful.

Do you think its a good turbo

Also the 17 psi is what I got from the guy as being optimum. I think he is being conservative with the figure and maybe a bit safe.

MSL420
Not sure. I have however heard of them as they have a base here in the UK and produce a N55 MSL 450 and intercooler for our cars.

They may be great but, when choosing my new turbo, I decided to go with the already proven options as price was comparable.

You'll need to log after install and evaluate.

17psi is quite low. The stock E turbo will peak at 19 in the mid revs and tapper to 13 at max rpm. I think a Pure Stage 1 can run 20 tappering down to 18 and a Pure Stage 2 will max out around the high 20s.

If you start to increase the boost you will need other supporting mods.

You may also need to consider a LPFP, either E85 or meth, TBI or PI. a N20 Tmap, a BEF and an upgraded DV. Depends on what boost you target and what the logs look like.

On my car, I could run 17psi, maybe 18 on a good day, to the redline without any of the above bar E85. After that the HPFP crashed.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

The turbo costed around 1000 Euro however if you return your old core its a bit cheaper.

Please help. The mechanics fitted the turbo yesterday. Everything was running first time round then they notice a loose nut by the down pipe for which everything had to come off again.

Then when they fitted everything back the turbo isn't boosting through the JB4 but on the stock connector its boosting fine.

Is my JB4 faulty? I can still access the unit and change maps etc though.

Thanks

Drop something onto the support forum as you now need to troubleshoot as we'll take it from there.

Default TMAP Sensor - 04-24-2016, 09:15 AM

Car is sorted

For some reason with I found on my Bluetooth app which I just installed all the values were set to Zero.

I then put back my previous settings that I had after ISO Upgrade.

A tuner gave advice on what to adjust on my Revs and I am currently using his recommendation. However is there anything else I can adjust to get more power?

Should I follow the settings on Page 1 although I don't have an upgraded TMAP Sensor nor do I have a stage 2 turbo.

Please see attached my current settings.

Thanks
