Hi all.. Coming from the VAG world.. So I'm learning BMW as I go but I've wanted a BMW for a long time so I got this car as it was the perfect deal I had ever seen.. So I've got a 2013 135i 7 speed DCT I bought 1 1/2 months ago... Performance wise I've got BMS Intake, ETS Charge Pipe and AA GEN 1 exhaust installed so far... JB4 is going in today.
My question is with 91 Octane (no 93 here..) what type of power/tq would I see with above mods? I couldn't find anything really on this.
Would Map 5 be better than Map 1 for me? I was told yes but not really sure.
Also what gains besides obvious better cooling would I see when adding a Intercooler? Which I plan to add a 7" VRSF IC in a few months.

I don't plan to do anything crazy with the car (No plans of E85 mix or Meth) but DP and other mods such as suspension etc will be coming along over time as well. And possibly PureTurbo Stage 1 in future.

Sorry for all the rambling but yeah, just excited is all.

That's what I was figuring. I want the best performance I can since I can't get 93. If I could I would go Map 2 once I got DP.. But it seems Map 5 will be my best friend. Haha.

Also I got full JB4... Not just Stage 1.

Go for DP and intercooler if you are not using meth.

You will see some gains up top with the IC. DP will yield some gains as well, likely 10~ HP. Map 5 has always been what I use regardless of fuel. Just make sure you do 3 pulls in 3rd from 2500 to redline at WOT to adjust.

Is there are a reason you aren't willing to use E85? You are willing to swap the turbo, but not adjust fueling? Your best gains will be made by using an E85 mix.

I would stick to map 1 and 5 only unless you are looking to use a higher octane fuel. Personally I didn't like the ignition timing on map 5 with just 92 octane so I stuck with map 1.

DP -turbos also spool faster in lower rpm and IC good for heat soak ,especially hot summer.Both give you some nice gains, but biggest gain will be using E85 or race gas.

If you choose to try race gas or an E85 mix you wont be happy with the performance on just 91.

Not much to deal with as far as putting e85 in--bigger thing is if it is available in your area--you can search online for stations that carry it. It definitely adds a kick and it really brings the jb4 to life even more. Pretty hard to resist.
