Default Single turbo log review/issues - 05-25-2019, 08:19 PM

This week I just finished installing my docrace single kit. The install went relatively smooth and now that it is up and running I was wanting some insight on the logs to make sure things look smooth. From a novice stand point nothing stood out crazy to me.

On map 1 I am hitting wastegate spring pressure +2psi. (black spring in wastegates). Logs attached for map 1.

On map 2 I was able to get some more boost. Target +2psi. Logs attached for map 2.

This issue is once I go to map 3 I cant get over over +/- 16 psi. Ive racked my brain and double checked everything. I am sure it is something simple that I am overlooking. Possible setting issue? Ive checked all the lines and everything else. I just dont understand because map 1 is right and map 2 is also close. MAC solenoid does click with ignition on and when you depress the gas pedal.

Same exact thing on map 4.

Here are my mods:

DocRace 6266.
n20 (3.5 bar map) Enabled 1 on jb4.
Berk midpipes to active autowerke axle back.
NGK 97506 plugs gapped to .022
Fuel-It stage 3 fuel pump.
Stock new coils
Updated jb4 firmware
MHD ST Pump BEF
93 octane.
Automatic car.

Any help is appreciated on the logs and the map 3 issue. I am new to the single turbo stuff on the n54 platform.

Ive also attached pictures of my settings in the jb4 app.

***UPDATE:***

Double checked the wastegate lines and the line that goes to the turbo to the MAC solenoid was kinked when the air filter was put on.

Added a 90 fitting and reran the line and went out and did some pulls and now it is hitting target. I have included a new log from map 3 and map 4 for review.

I went back to map 1 until someone reviews these just to be on the safe side.

Here are my novice remarks:
Lp fuel looks good to me.
Hp fuel looks good but getting down there.
AFR looked okay
Timing I could use some insight on...

As always any insight is greatly appreciated.

Overall not bad

Trims briefly max & come back down

Boost a bit over-target, nothing alarming

A few timing corrections but imo nothing to be too alarmed at- what are you using for fuel again?

I have the Fuel-It! stage 3 pump using 93 octane.

I changed to the st_thr bef and noticed it seems to run a little better.

My open loop is set to 60, should I raise it to help with trims?

Yeah the THR helps a bit on the spool

Lets see what 60 looks like- and relog

I have attached 3 more logs for review.

Do trims look better? If not what are my options for getting it corrected?

this looks a good bit cleaner.

How does the car feel? On the HPFP side we're starting to touch 9- up top- getting into that grey area of comfort.

Overall the car feels and sounds healthy.

For now I think my best option would be to go back to map 2 so that way I dont have any hpfp issues until I am able to add port injection.

I appreciate the help.

Realistically with the current setup I was wanting to be right around 500+, I was running 20psi on the 6266 and if I was to guess I am not to far off from that goal. But with the hpfp getting pretty low I have kicked it back to 17psi.

Future goal is to be right around 600. I feel that should be plenty of power without destroying the engine or the auto trans. Not sure exactly where I need to be boost wise to attain that goal...

This weekend I am installing the bms trans cooler and doing another trans fluid/filter/seal change just to make sure the trans is healthy (its been about 50k since the last change). Then from there I plan to add port injection and upgrade my coils. Still undecided between the PR or the bimmerlife ones. Leaning toward the PR though.

I dont see why I wouldnt be able to hit those goals with the pi and upgraded coils.

Comments? Concerns? Opinions?

Oh yeah- 600 would be easy / and imo not stressing the turbo, or fueling with port.

Engine wise- 600 seems to be ok- but it is getting into that weird grey area where some people have no issues & others it goes really really wrong lol.
