Default More PSI on Vargas Upgraded OEM-Size Turbos - 05-11-2019, 09:36 PM

Iím FBO + inlets & outlets with Vargas OEM-sized Turbos but they have the upgraded TD04 internals, upgraded wastegate, and the upgraded billet compressor wheel. My question is what psi can I safely max these turbos out at? Because the 17 psi on the backend flash in map 2 doesnít seem like enough. I ordered the 3.5bar TMAP sensor. Whatís the max psi you guys are running on stock turbos to give me a rough idea?

Shouldnt you be asking the vendor since they know what they did to those turbos ? They are NOT stock so why try and compare ????

You should really let the logging tell you where your limits are. There are too many variables to say a blanket statement like you should be able to run 20PSI with X turbo. Start at map 1 and then work with a tuner or do the research to tune it safely. Shouldn't take long to get it dialed in.

Like people have said, I think your logs will let you know when your running out of fuel/timing doesnt look good. Remember 17 psi stock turbos fbo is a lot different then upgraded turbos on 17 psi(moving more air). Post logs and the community will help guide you. You can also have a tuner do a custom backend flash that will help you with the process.

Side note for reference, I had a customer dyno at 470ish whp at 20 psi fbo stock turbos and then just redynod with mmp stage 3 turbos/inlets/manfold(everything else the same) at 22psi and made 605whp with the same tuner

Ask your tuna

VTT should be able to tell you what they made on what fuel to give you an idea. I would assume they dyno'ed their own product.
