Exclamation bootmod3 backfires/sputtering - 04-19-2019, 04:21 PM

hey guys so i just installed bootmod3 today in the morning i am running stage 1 witch does not require mods

only thing i am running is intake and muffler delete if that even makes a difference

but in the morning it was running fine and the more i drive the car the more sputters and backfires i get

on low rpms like to the point i can hear the engine sputtering and throwing black smoke.

some pulls it pulls great very strong power but then some pulls i get very badd backfires/ sputters and black smoke from the exhuast

do you guys think i just need better spark plugs or you guys think is something worse

any ways i got ngk spark plugs (97506)

do you guys think i should gap them

another i thing i noticed was today in the morning the car was running great but it was like 68 degrees at max and right now it got up to like 87 degrees and the car started to act up ...

any suggestions or opinions.

i would apreciate the help

I would start with installing new spark plugs. Gap them at .22 using any standard gapping tool. BMS sparkplug tool is a must, i recommend that you get one, as i went to 4 different autopart stores trying to find a thin walled spark plug socket and it cost about the same as BMS's tool. After that i would make sure that your are putting good gas in it. If that doesnt work, come back here to the forum as it could be injectors, coils, carbon buildup or a whole number or other things. Good luck man!
