If you are at 11.6 v static charge you need to charge it completely. Fully charged you should be around 12.5v.
If you start inducing a load to a battery with 11.6v you will immediately start dropping and could potentially drop below a min voltage.
Fully charge first and then keep maintaining charge on the system when flashing as it will be cycling fuel pump and other electronics as the flash is programming.

You'd need 20A supply to compansate for the load during flashing. I have 7A charger and with charged battery and connected charger, 40min of flashing are OK.

Hi Terry

In flashes of 6/6/15 you desensitized knock tables to reduce false knock.

In recent flashes, you reversed these changes to "normal" flashes and added those with KR designation.

Are the knock tables of the new KR designated flashes desensitized MORE aggressively than earlier flashes?

Cyl 4 was doing something else than others. I have to keep on eye that one.
Not only Cyl 4 but 5 and 6 too. I'd say this backend is too agressive, but you could try first to enrich the fuel mix. Narly 13 AFR at 4900 is too lean for my taste.

The stg1 are targeting 14 psi peak, with just a bit of taper.

Yes it does. For your puspose, simply swtich to the built in / stage 0 map (2min).

1. By flashing a OTS map or backend, you are already running the most up to date firmware.
2. It's available for backends too.

Default MHD update v1.33 - 04-04-2016, 06:34 AM

Last official update was 1.30, here's the changelog:

04/04/2016 - v1.33
- v6.1 maps open beta testing
- Flash option: MT shift bog fix
- added more slots for flashers, logger & map2 purchases
- DCT: remove the increased boost firmware mod if installed and not needed (MHD OTS, JB4 backends)
- 4 bar sensor fix (0.5 / 4.5V)

The v6 maps are still in beta. Complete rewrite from v5, using stock knock tables like v1-v4 were. The stage 1 and stage 2 now feature 8 maps each (with and without FMIC, 4 octane variants). I recommend running e20 for the 95 octane variants.

Here's the map breakdown:

Awesome!

I plan to start with the JB4 MHD E85 backend flash. Will I be able to select the MT shift bog fix? Or does that require me to use a dedicated MHD-created flash?

Hoping to install MHD this week.

Yes it's available for backends too. See below the current list of flash option (top always available, bottom stand alone flash only):

I was wondering if anyone has used AMIDuOS as an Android emulator on their computer to install MHD? I have a laptop that I can use and am trying to avoid having to buy a separate device just for this.

Sorry if this is already covered and I just missed it... But is there any reason that the JB4_MHD_I8A0S_HYBRID_PUMP.bin is in a test folder when downloading the files?

Too many pages to go through. If this has been covered I apologize. Looking at starting my car up after the single turbo was installed. I can't find my k-dcan cable for the MHD flash(ordering another). If I upload the jb4 single turbo interface and keep my e85 backend flash will I be fine to start the car to check for leaks?

Sure. Just don't go WOT until loading the proper single turbo back end flash map.

i like mhd more and more,
wondering when bluetooth/wifi version will be available,

and wondering if you plan to have boost target change only flashing.. like changing maps on jb4

also, you could show MT options in case if car does not have 205 option in VO only, it would simplify interface for users.

Exactly how dangerous is it running the KR option? I can control my fuel octane but I can't control all the other factors that could cause knock.

Also curious on this. I'll be loading my MHD flash this weekend and don't know if I should go with or without the KR on my E85 BEF.

Start with the normal map and evaluate your timing. If the drops are coming up at lower boost levels, etc, then they are likely to be false. If timing is good at low boost but bad at high boost then it's likely real knock.

Car: 2008 535xi touring

Hello,

This is my first post, I'm new to the online BMW community. I've always had german cars, just never BMW's. Recently I purchased a 2008 535xi touring (AT), I absolutely love it. These forums have been great...

So on to my car - The only things I have done to it is add an afe intake and I bypassed the exhaust flap solenoid in the boot of the car.

I added the MHD stage 1 V5 93 octane map on my car last week. My initial thoughts were I loved it of course. Its definitely a smooth map. My car pulls hard, shifts smoothly, and sounds amazing. I've never heard this much airflow from stock turbos before (I've had several turbo cars including my past favorite the audi 2.7 bi turbo). This map definitely did the trick and for the money it's a steal. I paid 4 times as much for my APR audi tune years ago....

So here is the only negative issue I have personally had with the MHD tune. After installing it into my car within the first 24 hours my car started up 2/6 times and threw itself into limp mode while in park. Then the next day pulling slowly out of my driveway in drive the car threw itself into neutral and then limp mode, also giving idrive error park may not work. As these issues are a little annoying they aren't deal breakers (unless this happens while I'm going a decent speed or in traffic).

Each time these errors happen I just simply shut the ignition off remove the key and arm and disarm the alarm and the issues are gone... So it hasn't been a deal breaker yet. Before the MHD the car never once had any issues...

Yesterday I installed the new V6.1 and I also did the limit power per gear option. I limited boost to 1st-5psi 2nd-10psi 3rd-15psi. I didn't really have any real theory behind my limits they just sounded reasonable to me. So far its been 24 hours and I have only started the car 3 times, all without issue.

I will give updates as I drive more and more.

Again, I really LOVE this flasher and tune. MHD is an amazing app. These little software hiccups haven't been a deal breaker.
