To pass an OBDII code reader inspection the car must be in Map 0 which bypasses the JB4.
Wish I had remembered this before I took my '08 535i through inspection recently, and it failed because it was not in a "READY" status. DOHHHH. Does anyone know, if I change it to map 0, do I have to get a few hundred miles on the car to get all the tests to run? Does setting it to map 0 clear the saved values for all the tests they care about for OBD2 checks?

I haven't been on this site in a couple years. I am still on firmware version 6/4/2011! I want to update it so I can do the gauge sweep. I found the other post created for obsolete hex file and the date shows 082112 for G4, does that mean I don't have G5? When did G5 become available?

When I bought my JB4 I remember upgrading to a new board which was included in my purchase. Was that for the G5 board or G4?

Anyways, I have a SES light on and wanted to read the code. Here's what it read if anyone can help:
2A2D Fuel low pressure system, fuel pressure
2AAF Fuel pump, plausibility
2ACB DME digital motor electronics main relay, input signal
2EF4 Map thermostat, mechanics

Thanks guys,
Brandon

8/21/12 was the last G4 firmware. For $150 you can upgrade to a G5 ISO board on our site. Well worth it IMHO.

get a ** fix from bms. Integrate it with jb4 harness, a bit of wiring required, but easy. Just before the emissions, change your map to "0", then turn your key in. It should pass ok. At least I passed mine ok here in Georgia.

Hey guys
Has anyone gone from the iso 27.3 hex file to 27.13 & noticed any improvements or loses in throttle response? Ive been debating on whether or not to update due to some reportings of earlier versions may have caused some members a lil loss in throttle response while trying to solve their wastegate issue. Im not having any problems that im aware of with iso 27.3 but wanted the latest update.

Also, my part throttle or mid throttle acceleration has diminished alot after BMW did oil change and breaks last year. I think they updated my dme. Since then i have installed the bb flash which helped but did not completely restore part throttle to its former glory. Lol. Any help is appreciated. Im also thinking about a wedge flash. Thanks guys.

Did you try to play with menu 10 and 12? The higher it's set, the more responsive it is. These menus can kind of revert back the update you might got from bmw.

I found the problem. I scanned the tcu and dynamic traction control module today with bavarian technic and found numerous dtc wheel speed sensor codes and other codes. The dealer did not cleared these after the brake sensor, pads and rotors were done. They attempted to update the tcu but didnt so i didnt lose the alpina coding. I cleared the codes and wow the car is back. Snappy throttle caught me off guard. Better shifting and acceleration with less throttle input. Mpg in dash went up some too. Btw i did play with menu 10 &12 in the past and like the default settings. Thx for your help.

Not sure if it's been requested before but given the popularity of the Walbro 255 inline, any chance we can get LPFP on the gauge hijack? Was thinking a scaling of min=40 middle=70 and Max=100??

Mo, moved your log, etc, to the support section. Hopefully some more eyes can help shed some light on there on your timing issues. I'm out of ideas for your car.

It's a good idea. But remember high pressure is more important. If high pressure crashes, then you'd want to look in to low pressure to determine if its up to spec. But high pressure can crash even with full low pressure.

Makes good sense. I only replaced my HPFP recently and it's been holding well up top on E50. Will try E60 but I like how the car feels on E50 & meth.

Moral of the story is you need to log when running high ethanol content.

It's always good to keep an eye on it. But remember the JB4 also monitors it for you. And if high pressure drops below 7 for more than 2 seconds it will trigger a map 4 switch and flash the SES light 2 times.
